It's been happening for a few days now, so whenever i watch a movie on my computer - as in watching a dvd or vcd, the audio is really low. I'd have to put it to full volume to be able to hear them talk and whenever there is background music, that you usually hear in the background, it is ten times louder then the actual people talking. Is there a way to fix that?
It would be much appriciated.

OOoOoOOoOOOo I have the same problem on my laptop. I guess it depends for me with what media player i'm using. so far i've only tried MPC and WMP, and i just down mix the channels with MPC and it's chill.
I don't like you! >_<

It sounds like you're dealing with AC3 files.
There should be a volume control/config in either the Control panel or wherever the AC3 utility appears in your Start/Programs
I use the klite codec pack... i know there are tons of other ones but I stick with what I know right?
So I use that and it appears in my start as Start/Programs/klite/Config/AC3filter
