New Driving Fines for 2007

1. Carpool lane - 1st time $1068.50 starting 7/1/07 (The $271 posted on the highway is old). Don't do it again because 2nd time is going to be double. 3rd time triple, and 4th time license suspended.

2. Incorrect lane change - $380. Don't cross the lane on solid lines or intersections.

3. Block intersection - $485

4. Driving on the shoulder - $450

5. Cell phone use in the construction zone. - Double fine as of 07/01/07. Cell phone use must be "hands free" while driving.

6. Passengers over 18 not in their seatbelts - both passengers and drivers get tickets.

7. Speeders can only drive 3 miles above the limit.

8. DUI = JAIL (Stays on your driving record for 10 years!)

9. As of 07/01/07 cell phone use must be "hands free" while driving.
Ticket is $285. They will be looking for this like crazy - easy money for police department

It's false. For one thing, the cell phone fine won't even go into effect until July of NEXT YEAR. Click the link again, it's been deemed FALSE.

theres a fake email going around with this info.....not real....

i have no idea how "no talking on cell phones while driving" is gonna work.
unless all the drivers went out and bought bluetooth..

theres also wired ones that most phones come with.....not everything has to be bluetooth lol

FAIL TO SIGNAL will get you a $1000 fine. i'm not even kidding, it's frikken' ridiculous!!
and the thing is non-virginia residents who break these laws won't have to pay as much since these are "registration fees" are some shhhyt

hmmmm, the seat belt law is needed cause its only to save yourself. the cell phone one is okay i guess. but the speeding one! you can only go 3 miles over speed limit! NO WAY! cause i see cops going 10+ over speedlimit. I go 10+ over speed limit... safety first! hehe. but seriously, these laws should apply to anyone and everyone. cause cops be the ones that break them the most.

How the hell is this fake? Cell phones cause a lot of accidents because many idiots cannot multi-task.

yep. hands-free won't help much either, it's not just that people can't drive while holding a phone, its that they're distracted by the conversation.

ugh the block intersection scares me sometimes especially during rush hour traffic and all that ..the fine is so high too O_O
but good bout the cellphone thing. driving with one hand is not enough control..especially if something sudden happens
