I have to write a persuasive speech and I really need a topic. Could anybody give me some ideas on interesting topics they wrote about or plan to write about. thanks a bunch

abortion, lower the drinking age, gay marriage, videogames, legalization of marijuana, hybrid cars, homeless, etc... but I'm sure your teacher has heard these a billion times because those are really common speech topics.

One of my classmates did a persuasive speech on Chipotle. It was very entertaining and basically convinced everyone in our class to go eat at Chipotle.

Maybe persuade everyone to go to your favorite restaurant or try your favorite drink or food?

Or you can do a persuasive speech on wether or not we should celebrate certain holidays such as Columbus day... if he really discovered America and such.

my speech instructor told us when choosing a persuasive topic, always pick one that has two sides
i.e. persuading people not to eat trans fat isn't a good topic since you can't really argue that people should eat it

I did my speech on soccer-- on how referees should use videos/camera equipment to show evidence if it was offside, a foul or what not. Hahaha, I was way too upset when I saw the World Cup of stupid referees making rash decisions & giving them a red card. Hmpf. So, i wrote a speech about it. 8D

Do something you like.
My friend wrote about gaming. On how like games are not for fat people or anything like that. It's a competitive way to pwn people. Hahaha
My friend also wrote about cards. On how it's challenging & something like that. Lots of BS around that speech but interesting enough.

Do something you seriously like~ Or a hobby you have an interest in & write something about it to persuade people to like it~!!!

haha i just had a persuasive speech this week. I did my topic on procrastination, but truthfully compared to other people in my class,the topic was boring. Other people did:
-gay community
-road rage (this one was pretty good)
-cinderella syndrome & relationships
-animal cruelty
-global warming
-abortion
-fast food

i chose a rather boring topic: registering to vote
my classmates did: selling knives, hybrid cars, global warming, overcrowded prisons, drinking soda, learning a second, or third language...

you could do one about rights, and how fetuses are not given any... it's a really controversial issue right now because of the situation is ohio (i believe it was that state) w/ the murder of a pregnant woman and the 'alleged' murder being charged with two murder counts (one for the woman and one for the fetus of 7 months), it's written in the u.s. constitution that 'unborn' children aren't given any rights....
