Sometimes I wonder if the actors
like the channel they represent.
If i was one of them I think I'd like
the fact that little kids look up to you
but I would sometimes want fans that are older.

tell me your thoughts biggrin.gif

Hell yeah! I'd love to be on Hanna Montana or the Suite Life (And I think everyone one of us would LOVE to be in HSM). But then you have to grow up being known as a "Disney Kid" and being type-casted. Hillary Duff did a good job of break from her typecast though.

it takes a loooong time for people to recognize an actor/actress as their own self, with their own credibility - rather than, "oh, look! it's that girl from the disney channel!" i recall shia labeouf mentioning that disney is a nurturing environment, but it hardly allows a serious actor/actress to grow.

plus, if you were a star in disney - but later went off to do a more 'grown-up' movie, you'd be criticized a lot more.

I wouldn't mind at all, honestly. I wouldn't expect it to "JUMP START" my "acting career" or anything, I would just do it because I would like to sing/dance/act. I wouldn't expect to get 'big' in the future. Disney Channel... I don't know, maybe I'm the only one, but if I had talent, I'd try out for something there.
PLUR.

Honestly? No.

It may be a good place to start out and it may get you known as someone, but I hardly think you'd get respected or recognized as an "actor" but be known as "hey, its that kid from Disney". Most of the times - I'm pretty sure there's some exceptions.

It would be a nice start, haha.
Though it depends what show and country for me.
I wouldn't mind being in the same show as Francois Civil(Disney Star from France) XD.

No. You'll go nowhere in life. You'll either be the Disney kid or a nobody depending on the ratings of the show.

I would've thought Shia LaBeouf as the most successful breakout Disney star rather than Hilary.

^ I think you just contradicted yourself
I would say today Shia as the most successful, but he was far less known compared to Hilary Duff a year or two ago

umm maybe if i was still like 10 but now no
i mean disneys really amusing to watch but ur just going to be forever labeled a "disney kid"
it took hilary forever to break her good-two-shoes image and even still, i think of her as a "disney star" and well shia....hes a different story

hmm i was gonna say yes, but after looking at other posts and thinking hard, i say no.
like, when hilary duff left disney and started her own career, i was like, "eww. so ungrateful. she should become a better role model."
i was judging her that way because i saw her on disney channel before her movie career.
okay, idk if im explaining it correctly.
basically, i wouldn't want to be judged as a goody-goody disney star if i did get more serious with my career.
yesh. haha
