around two weeks ago, my friend dropped my camera on the pavement. when she dropped it, the battery came out and the lense was dented. i was quite upset, but it started working afterwards. then a few minutes later .. it didn't work again ! i can turn it on to look at pictures and stuff but i can't take pictures or anything. like when i try to, it makes this clickclickclick sound because the lense is stuck and then beeps and the screen says E18 on the bottom left corner. so i went to pacific mall to see if i can find a store to get this problem fixed but one said i have to go down to missisauga and get it fixed at the Canon place. btw, i bought my camera in march 2006, so one year warrenty is done. GRRRR. the other one told me i should just get another camera cos' getting it fixed is the same price as my camera on sale right now. i love my camera A LOT and i don't know how to explain to my parents. my camera was $ 400 ! you know how much i can buy with that :S * sigh. do any of you know a way to fix this problem ? PLEASE AND THANKYOU !
[EDIT]
my friend tried fixing it and the lense protection thing broke off but the camera still turns on .. hope it still works !

My friend's canon A560 gives the e18 error every time he turns it on. He never dropped it or anything.
There are guides on how to fix it, but he let me take a shot and the number of parts is SCARY... I was unable to fix it.
BUT a lot of times you can whack it and it will work again...
Yeah your camera was expensive... but its pretty much broken now (assuming whacking doesnt fix it) I was looking up camera cases for my digicam and mine is just like $100 on amazon now! T_T So if you are on a tight budget consider different buying options and all that. Even a older model might be a good choice
