I need to read a nonfiction book this summer, so I was wondering if any of you have any recommendations for one.
Or you can just list any nonfiction books that you have read. smile.gif

Thanks in advance.

Freakonomics by Levitt & Dubner - You'll probably finish this book in one day, it's an easy read and interesting.

The Tipping Point
by Malcolm Gladwell - For the first three quarters of the book it captured my interest. However, I started to feel like I was reading my psychology textbook. Don't get me wrong, I only lost interest because I read about studies they were discussing before. Also by Gladwell, Blink.

The Paradox of Choice by Barry Schwartz - This book was well organized and the points were clearly described. However, he kept hitting the nail on the head over and over again.

Why Men Marry Bitches by Sherry Argov - Another interesting read, I finished the book in a day during work. I felt like I was breezing through a really long Cosmo article.

Are you interested in philosophy? I have some philo recommendations if you like.

"The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II" by Iris Chang

this book didn't feel like a history lesson at all. it was a really good read and i learned a lot from this.

try Michael Pollan - The Omnivore's Dilemma... it's a good read but won't keep you up til 3am to finish it.

Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By In America by Barbra Ehrenreich. THe author does an experimetn to see if it is possible to survive by taking minimum wage jobs. I enjoyed the book, I had to read it for my sociology class. The book is a medium length and a easy read.

LUCKY by Alice Sebold

She wrote it on her experience...of rape. 'Good' book, but some/many parts may be disturbing to the reader.
