Go to WMP, from the drop down menu choose Tools -> Plugins -> make sure the the WLM has a tick beside it.
And check your WLM settings as well, make sure it has show what I'm listening to in my personal message or something like that.
As for why it's tuning into your iTunes instead of WMP, I'm not sure. Have you installed some kinda WLM patch or something?
