so today.. i was gonna burn a cd and i had to edit stuff and it was already burning.. so i cancelled the burning and i had to edit it. so the disk came out automatically.. [and i was burning with itunes]

after i was done editting, i tried inserting the cd.. and all of a sudden it couldn't go in.

and i've been trying to get the cd burner thingy to get in and it wouldn't.

and im like crap crap crap.

anyone know how to fix it?
so basically;
my cd burner is broken and is stuck and it's sticking out AND NOT GOING IN. >.<

Well assuming you have shut the computer down and its STILL sticking out, try just pushing it back in manually...

Otherwise (very unlikely) the tray has become misaligned and you would have to take the drive apart to try to stick it back together, but I don't think its a very good idea since its a pain to take a part and all.

I had the same problem just a few weeks ago. I took apart the whole cd drive and found that it was misaligned. Like AWDARK said.....it was a pain in the butt. So unless you have a lot of free time and a lot of patience, i suggest you get a new one. I don't think they're that expensive. $20 ish range..i think. Anyways...good luck.

DVD burners are not expensive at all anymore nowadays. Upgrade to a DVD burner and you could do more.

i guess i can try all of those and... me not being the best person with tools.. ill get my uncle to do it for and stuff.
