Does any of you guys sound different on camera?

People say i sound really different on camera.
Im not sure how.

One time, my friend told me to record her singing, which i did, and when she listened to it, shes all "I think your cameras broken" (haha...x_o)
but honestly, it sounded exactly like her.

And when my siblings record themselves, it sounds exactly like themselves too.

But people say i sound different on camera??



but then im not sure if some of the replies i get will be reasonable,
because we can all be tone-deaf without even knowing...

but me i sound TOTALLY diff on camera too
my sister notcied as well

some people dont have that voice to sound different HAHA i dont know

i'm not too sure about cameras for myself cause i've never really
recorded a lot except for this one entry for an audition... O_O;;;
i sound different rather with stage mics than a computer mic. O_O;;;
since stage mics have the reverb effects (my church's mics to be
specific with my example) my vibrato can be barely heard and my
tone sounds... higher? is it suppose to be like that? maybe it's just
my voice screwing with me... >.>;;;;

i think its because we sit in silence while we listen...
and when we actually sing...its just different..
cos we're more focused on the notes coming out...rather than actually listening to every single thing that comes our of our mouth..

your voice sounds different to you yourself than it does to other people because your voice resonates in your head before it hits your ears. When it's played back to you, you hear yourself as other people hear you and since it's not resonating in your head, it sounds a lot different than what you're used to.

hahaha.. usually it's because of our ears hearing our voice different--
but when it comes to cameras that arent really designed to pick up voices high quality (unless.. you have a really nice camera)
it could always be because of the camera.
as for me, my voice sounds ten times higher and girlier than it does in real life-- but then again that's just my opinion.
it could be different to those who normally hear my voice. ^^;

I haven't tried recording myself on camera, but my friends tell me I sound a lot different on the microphone than I do in person. -sweat-

its also due to your voice and the mic, say you have a very specific midtone ish voice and the mic picks up a very low range of midtones then you will sound different.

like how computer mics tends to distort midtones and dont pick up high ends well, same for cameras too

yeah i hate my voice on a camera.
thats why i never auditioned
&ill never have a chance to go to korea.

but i reallyy love my voice on a mic.

i sing like..one line& people are like OHHHHHH JISUUU! YOUR VOICEEE!
&my aunt told me to become a singer just cause she likes my voice when i sing LOLL

I've recorded by camera too.. and the quality isn't as 'clear' as when i do it directly by mic into a mixer.. but the camera gives more of a nasal/echo sound.. which to some poeple actually makes the voice sound better (sound wise) =]

It's not as like clear as in precision but then it gives a nice effect of echo/vibration =)
