hey peoples.

just wondering how many people here on soompi have a copy or actually played fatal frame 3 or any fatal frames?

well i have a copy and just played for an hour. it seems that everytime a play a FF game i can never play straight through. its that gosh daymn scary! im playing with the lights off and surround sound to up the scare factor. just playin for an hour i screamed "ohh sh**!!" 3 times because these daymn ghosts keep popping out of no where! ughh...and then i died...bleh. ill try again tomorrow, which means i gotta fight a couple of ghosts again...

if some people here on soompi are unfamiliar with FF i really think you should give it a try. the concept of the game is a survival horror. (ya know your resident evil) but instead of having guns and shooting zombies, you get to exorcise ghosts with a camera. yep, just a plain old camera. just taking pictures of ghosts is...blehh why dont you try it...

this is the ONLY game that i ever played that made me actually want to STOP playing. forget resident evil or silent hill. no doubt that they are good games but if you really want a game that can scare the crap outta you then this is a must try, especially the 3rd one in the series. the environment and the background music really adds to give you the chills. then theres the ghosts... this game is by the creepiest game ive played so far. sucha great game!

ughh...well looks like im going to play again tomorrow nite...i mite pee my pants this time

your not the only one...i havent picked up III yet ( i plan on later this week) but playing thru the first and second took me months to do becuz i would get scared and stop playing...then id be too scared to pick it back up...i play with the lights off too (i dont have surround sound)...but im in the basement with adds to the creepy factor...

Hahahaha! OMFG, I LOVE this game! >_< It's so great! I love getting scared, I get kicks from it, mvahaha. I haven't played the third one yet, but the 2nd one rocked my socks! I'm definitely buying the third one soon ^.~

haha im glad that im not the only who cant play straight. i will guarantee you guys that this is probably the scariest FF out rite now. you wouldnt feel like that like for the first two hours or so, because i felt then that FF2 was more scarier. BUT after the first two hours, holy sh**-o the game just makes you freakin make your heart beat faster.

ohh yeah, does anyone talk to themselves while playing this game? i actually do. i guess im tryin to keep up my confidence while playin. i start yelling at the ghosts "yeah! eat that you b****!"

you actually play in the basement? only if you had surround sound...oh my, oh my...

I think when I first played FF1, I was a little intimidated for maybe the first few ghosts then it wasn't scary anymore. FF2 was similar to FF1 so I wasn't scared by that one either.

I have yet to play FF3.

My friends I have played through all the stages in FF1 and FF2 (normal and nightmare). It never gets old being scared. XD So far we've played 8 hours of FF3.

I don't think I can ever play this game alone. We usually play in the garage with the lights off. One time, my mom came in the door to ask if we wanted cookies,but instead we just jumped and screamed like chickens with its heads cut off.

Did you see the Juon reference? I was like WTHHH... haha

The Kuon game based on Ju-on didn't seem very impressive btw. I read the review and rating wasn't very high.





I could be wrong. I mean the guy at gamestop recommanded it to me but then again by talking to him, he liked some games that I didn't like so....

I've played Kuon. I prefer Fatal Frame over it, but it's still scary. A LOT of blood, more monsters instead of ghosts, but the ending was crap. It's worth a try for a scare though.

Weee! fatal frame is ace! Finally a really decent horror game with no guns...just me..and a camera! Exellent >D I've played all three games and the 2nd and 3rd games are the best ^.^ I need to complete the 3rd game on difficult mode now so fun to play with the camera! The gameplay is really unique which I like and all the cultural references to Japan niiice (yay something other then old run down cities!) Btw has anyone got news abt the new fatal frame movie that's supposedly in production?? Man now i want to look at the pretty artwork you get with the 3rd game now ;__; so pretty!

XD my sister used to play (not the third one tho......) and i would be sitting right next to her...the lights off.....sound is loud. lol. scared us XDD. havent played it in a while though......maybe i should start playing it. at 3pm. hahaahh.

yeah i stopped playing because the grandma ghost kept killing me. freaking thing.

ill get back playin that game once i have nothing else to do but for now ill be playing with my ps3 ^^

btw, i have no idea whats going on with the movie. i know their still making it and i heard steven spielberg was doing that movie, last time i heard. hopefully it will be good cause these games-to-movie usually arent that great.

I LOVE the Fatal Frame series! Beaten all three, all of 'em scared me s***less. FFIII just might be the scariest because of all the stuff that goes down in your house. O_O; It's not my favourite, II is, but still. Scary as all hell. All three.
I've got sooo many stories involving the Fatal Frame series. Omg. XDDD It's funny once we look back at it, but those games seriously scared me and my friends/siblings.

'Course you've gotta keep the right atmosphere. At night, lights off (in my case, down in my basement ), blanket wrapped around you for comfort.

@Izam. Kuon isn't very scary. It's not a bad game, just not scary, and it doesn't compare in the least bit to other horror games like Fatal Frame or Silent Hill. Once you've played either of those two I can't think of any other game to reccommend you, including Kuon, because it simply doesn't get any better than FF or SH.
I've sampled most other survival horror games, and I find none are as good as two mentioned... sigh. I'm just gonna have to wait for Sadness to come out for the Wii.

Anyway, back on topic...

I haven't personally played the game myself but have watched my brother play through all 3 games. It's seriously entertaining. Best horror game ever made. And we do shut the lights off and up the vol as well .

I remember in the first game, my brother was playing while my cousin and I were watching, and my brother was walking outside the temple, then the camera angle changed and a ghost crawled from under the stairs and were all like "OOOOHH! OOOOHH SH*****TTTT!!! OOHHHH" and we ran outside the room like little girls. It was too damn funny. The same thing happened in the mirror room ahhah.

And I believe it was in number 2 where you're walking near the hallway with the ropes hanging and there was a small corner covered with cloth and when you go past it and go into camera view a little boy would pop out of no where in front of the window. No sound or anything, it'd just pop out no where. I never saw that part but my brother and sister jumped like no other. Hahaha.
