So recently I decided to lose weight for health reasons.
and a friend told me that Kim Ah Jung (the korean celebrity from the movie 200 lb beauty)
lost weight by doing 1,000 jumpropes a day. so I was like crazy.gif ONE THOUSAND? dang!
so I thought it would take me an hour to do a thousand jumpropes.
I haven't jumped rope in an year and I could do 1,000 in 30 minutes. I am NOT fit. I'm like 20 lbs over what I SHOULD weigh.
So I thought, oh, a thousand isn't bad. I assumed it'd take me at least an hour to do them, but I was wrong.

but my friend also said that jumproping isn't great for the brain since you're constantly moving
and your brain is bobbing along with it...

IS THAT TRUE?

should I STOP jumproping?

I plan to increase it to 2,000 in the morning 2,000 at night.
trust me, it's NOT a lot. if you do it, you'll be like oh...wtf...it's not that hard.

and could someone please tell me the code for uploading pictures onto my threads??? T__T
so I could post some pics of jumproping or something

EHHH!?!?!?!?! you can jump rope 1000? >.> I an so unfit.
About the brain thing, You have liquid in your head to keep your brain in place. so you don't need to worry about damaging your brain.
ok to damage your brain you have to hit your head really hard against concrete (like jump off a building head first). >>
XD

jumproping is good for the heart...you should continue doing so...1000 is great but i don't think you should do 4000 (that's too much)...instead, try doing running, power walking, and lifting weights

i don't think its as bad as doing situps. everytime i do situps, my head gets really dizzy and i feel like throwing up.

Well thats what I heard too. (That jump roping helps you lose weight.) My friend said she didn't 30 minutes every night and you lost some major weight but as soon as she stopped doing it, she gained it all back. I started doing it last month but I got tired of it because I didn't see any improvement. Instead, I just jog and run. I hate it when I trip over myself doing jump rope. Lol. And I asked some people at my church abtou jump roping and some of them said that it's goign to damage your knees if you do too much of it. And when you grow older, you won't be able to walk around much. And someone else said jump roping makes your thighs big, because wrestlers do a lot of jump roping, because they use their legs a lot. (?) Not usre. But in a seventeen magazine, they said that jump ropig would burn A LOT of calories. Like I said, I'm not sure. I'm too scared to try it. I think just healthy old-fashion jogging and running would work.

Anyway, good luck! <3 (:

o_o try doign the incrases but keep 2000 at night and then increase in the morning because the air in the morning helps you jump faster (well for me)

it takes e around 30 minutes to d o 5000 maybe o_o
and its a great work out i might consider jumping again o_o maybe over the summer summer break i have >.>

also if your gonan jump dont jump with your whole foot but on tippy toes it goes faster o_o

wow.. a thousand?
i tried once. i got tired at around 50

jumproping is BAD for your joints (ankle, knee)
b/c you're landing your entire body mass onto those two areas
and put more pressure on them then they're used to
and eventually, you will end up getting arthritis at an earlier age
..at least, that's what my teacher (who's majoring in all that joints stuff) told me
:)

Same here =(
I've always wanted to jumprope.
I have one, but being in an apartment it's kinda hard.
And I'm not going to go outside and jumprope LOL
I should wait for gym class =(

1000 sounds a lot to me
but if you can do it it's fine.
I suggest not doing TOO much.
Nor doing ONLY that.

and sorry, but I have no idea about the brain part.

1,000? Haha, I can't even do like 100. But I guess if you're losing weight and you're not feeling dizzy from doing it, just continue.
And you just reminded me that I need to start jump roping again. xD

lol, like a year ago I wanted to lose some baby fat so I tried this.
only 500 at a time though...I gave up after 4 days of doing it every morning and night.
I don't know if it helped, but I heard jumproping is just good exercise anyways, so it probably wouldn't hurt to do it.

If you're not used to it slowly break into it or you'll get pain in the ankles and knees.

I've injured my knees and ankles from constant running lately now I have to do stationary biking for a while . Same thing can happen with jump rope so yeah.
Like someone said above it's alot of weight and pressure coming down on those joints.
