i live near UCI and most of the kids at my school apply/go to UCI...

i think ur SAT scores are very good. the GPA is a little low that's true. Try to take more AP classes next year... even though ur GPA doesn't really include ur senior grades, but the admission ppl like to see that you are taking hard classes...

and ur AP scores... try to get more 3/4/5's at ur senior year. i heard AP classes don't matter too much... it just gives you credit AFTER you get in.


so i think you do have a chance. just dazzle them with ur essay!

i screwed up big time my sophomore year. that's probably why. and your ap scores, u can call them.

I think you have a chance. I've heard it's not too hard to get into UCI.

Your SAT scores are pretty high, so that kind of balances out your GPA.

Even though senior year doesn't count, and by the way, I'm assuming you'll be a senior next year, make sure to maintain good grades and continue to take AP courses.

You said your ec and volunteer is pretty good, but you can try to do more, you didn't include them, but yeah, continue to join the same clubs from previous years if you have any and doing the volunteer work. Try to get a job if you can, they like to see work experience.

Otherwise, a good essay will really help you!! Good luck!! I'm hoping for UCI too... =X

I have a friend who had a 2.something GPA and a 2350+ SAT score. =__=

Anyway, I think you have a chance. Just try to take more AP classes to bump up that GPA, and more extracurriculars?

Lower chance. Colleges have the racial quota thing so its more competitive in schools such as UCLA or UCB if you're asian.
