Hi guys, I'm an asian girl that is 5'9 (175 cm). I'm quite skinny (around a size 2) so that makes me look even taller. I've always been very self-conscious about my height. When I'm around my friends and those I know well, I feel quite comfortable, but at parties and other events I feel like a freak, especially when I wear heals. I also get ridiculed every so often with stupid names like "frankinstein" and "walking freakshow." The people might be trying to be funny when they tell me not to stand so near making them look short, but I take some of these things to heart.

I guess my questions is, people always say that tall is good but what if a girl is too tall? What do you think the limit is? And what do you think is the ideal height for a girl (it may sound stupid but this stuff is important to me so please be honest).

There's nothing wrong with being a tall asian, and having a 5'9 height doesn't deserve immature labels like that. Obviously those people make such idiotic comments because they have no greater purpose in life.

Honestly, I think your height is the limit. 5'9 is like model height <3 It's pretty tall but not like WAYYOVERTHETOP tall. Although I'd be happy with 5'5 because most asian girls are indeed short.
Have you ever considered going into modelling? 5'9 and size 2 sounds like a slim, model type of body ^-^

WHOAAAA, BUDDY. There's plenty of girls taller than you. And I mean... Frankinstein has a square head, is green, and has some extremely bad stitches. o____o That's what you call a walking freakshow.

You should take it was a good way to heart. People say that cause they envy how tall you are while they're having trouble growing. HECK, I'd be jealous. I mean, 5'9?! That's my dream height. ;p <3

Obviously, we'll never know what the REAL limit is. Everyone grows at different rates. There could be a girl in some years that's like... SHAQ'S height. o_____- I'll tell you what's NOT the ideal height for a girl: being around 4 ft at the age of 20. @____@ That's crazy talk. Being in the high fives(lol) are good. Girls like tall and handsome. Guys could like tall and pretty. ^_________^

Dude, I'll do almost anything to be tall like you (except I only want to be 5'8 but I think I can only be around 5'7 or so; still growing). You should be happy you're tall! Most girls on soompi (including me) want to be tall! Luck you!

But I think the max for a girl should be 5'6... I read that that was the average height of a Korean female...

Yeah I think a lot more people envy you than look down on you. 5'9'' is a great height! I'm 5'7'' and I used to be more self-conscious about my height because I felt like such a OGRE next to my short asian friends, but now I'm proud of it. Isn't it fun looking over other people's heads? lol. I wish I could be 5'9''! I don't think there is a maximum height requirement

that's terrible how they call you names! you shouldn't pay any attention to them at all. gosh, what jerks. if they don't stop maybe you can give them the 'look' to hint them that it bothers you >_< or tell them to their face if you're the straightfoward type.

and hey- i mean think about it- it's better to be tall than short. plus you have the advantage if you're ever considering modeling. (: being tall is considered beautiful too you know, who doesn't want long legs? lol
