So earlier today, I went swimming and now I have sunburn on my face. It burns like a lot ! I even have it on my back but it's not burning as much as my face. What should I use to make it stop burning?

apply some aloe vera..it'll help soothe the burn. try to stay out of the sun, drink a lot of water..and avoid using any 'fancy' facial products.

you should put some aloe vera on it. if you get the actual aloe vera plant just cut it open and use the inside jelly stuff and it should help. it also inexpensive

errrr I'd say aloe vera but when I put it on my face, it HECKA stung my face O_O I'd recommend St. Ives Eye and Face Stress Gel. I think it moisturizes and doesn't sting that much. ALthough it's not for sunburns .. so I guess try Aloe Vera first and see if it stings you.

sour cream - when you want a break from aloe. (your face will feel instant relief too)

it'll take care of it right away, just keeping on washing it off as soon as it dries and re-applying.

I don't think there's any way to make it peel faster but I usually just peel off the skin as it's peeling so it's not too obvious.

use more aloe vera gel (couple of bucks in drugstores), pile on the lotion, use an exfoliating face scrub in the shower, and maybe even try dipping a paper towel into cool (not cold) milk and wipe your face with it, let sit for a couple of minutes, then wash it off.

lol i'm currently in the phase of having a sunburn and i've done all of the above (even using 3 diff types of lotion =_= cause i was scared one of them wasn't effective enough &the milk bath for my shoulders xD) and only some skin on my nose area has peeled. Nothing peeled from my shoulders or back or chest area o_o

moisturize moisturize! and scrub ze dead skin off!

No offense to anyone, but people really need to use sunscreen. If you don't want to sunburn or even risk getting sunburned, wear sunscreen. It's not that hard.

I know people are anal about sunscreen on the face....just try "sunscreen milk" (usually Asian brand sunscreens) - it's like water and you honestly feel NOTHING on your face.

Aloe vera is great for sun burn. Especially the plant itself!
even though it's a bit goo-ey

I too suggest using aloe vera.
I used it when I suffered bad sunburn on my face, arms and legs.
And the results were just great ! I find it has a nice, soothing, cooling effect.
This was a few years ago; I always use protection/sunscreen now.
Hope it heals soon ;D
