I'm currently attending a community college and want to transfer after 2 years to CSULB to attend as a Junior. But I found out that the major that I want (Industrial Design) has pre-requisites that my community college doesn't offer. And these aren't just a few classes that I could squeeze into my schedule at CSULB or anything. My community college can't fulfill more than half of those pre-requisites. I have a second major in mind (Graphic Design) but it's honestly not something I would like to make a career out of. Fulfilling all those pre-requisites at CSULB and staying for an extra year or so is just not an option for me as my financial situation is why I'm at a community college to begin with.

Has anyone else been stuck in this position? Any advice?

Thanks in advance!

The courses shown above constitute lower-division coursework required for this
major for this catalog year. In addition, lower-division general education
coursework is required (select General Education/Breadth on the main menu). This
additional coursework can either be completed at a California Community College
by achieving CSU-GE or IGETC certification (see a counselor for details), or the
General Education/Breadth course list in effect at matriculation must be
completed at CSULB. Be advised that lower-division course requirements are
subject to change from year to year, and catalog rights (actual course
requirements) will be established for the student effective with the catalog in
effect as of the first term of matriculation. Questions regarding this agreement
may be directed to the CSULB Articulation Assistant at (562) 985-7171 or (562)
985-1746 or by email at nsharif@csulb.edu

finish ge breadth requirements (they are recommended for this major)

suggestion 1: okay now heres my suggestion. . get into csulb as graphics design major (csulb no problem.)
change majors and take the classes you need for the industrial designs major. one thing though, ur gonna have to haul ass because you'll be behind everyone in ur field.

suggestion 2: Cal states allow you to put 2 possibilities to major in. So for option one you can put industrial designs and for second option you can put graphics design.

suggestion 3: if u havent already, set up a appointment with a counselor in ur cc and talk to them about it.
im sure they are more of a help than i. also have you done research into Art schools that might be able to give you credit for them?

but yea... follow the bold statements =P

o yea theres a pinned thread on community college advice, next time just use that thread cuz i respond faster there.

I wasn't aware of some of the things mentioned up there so I'll definitely look into those.

I really appreciate your help and for going as far as searching it up.

Thanks!
