Be curious to know how many have had the, uh, "experience" of eating poi biggrin.gif

It tasted rather bland when I had it, which isn't necessarily a bad thing to me, but apparently for a lot of people bland food is the very definition bad food, as a lot of people seem to dislike poi and that's the only reason they can come up with as to why.

poi poi. At least it's a fun word to say biggrin.gif

Is it some sort of dip that they have a lot of in Hawaii?
I remember something purple when I went there last time when I was 10.
My parents told me not to eat it cuz it makes you bigger oo;;;

Poi is indeed a hawaiian product made from taro, where you steam it and then mash it to the desired consistency, measured in terms of fingers smile.gif

It's incredibly healthy stuff, and may very well by the most hypoalleregenic food on the planet. It is even used sometimes to feed babys as a substitute for milk, and has saved the lives of a LOT of babies over the years ^^

VERY healthy, however, can be quite fattening (esp with sugar).

I cant stand poi...even with sugar, its too gross for me.

But i do love taro malasadas.
