Sorry if there's already a thread on Cold Case. I checked the list, but didn't find the thread for it. If there is, can you direct me to it? (: Thanks.

Cold Case

About The Show:
COLD CASE is a drama about Lilly Rush (Kathryn Morris), a dedicated female detective in the Philadelphia homicide squad, who finds her niche when she's assigned to "cold cases"--crimes that have never been solved. Previously, she used her instinctive understanding of the criminal mind on current murders. Now, she's interrogating witnesses whose lives and circumstances have since changed, making use of today's new science and finding fresh clues to solve cases that were previously unsolvable--all of which appeals to this smart, driven detective. She's also prepared for the consequences--that her work will open up old wounds and may lead suspects to commit new crimes. When she hits a dead end, Rush seeks advice from her respected mentor, Lt. Tom Stillman (John Finn). Also on the team are Det. Scotty Valens (Danny Pino), Rush's confident and strong-willed partner; Det. Will Jeffries (Thom Barry), who's been around long enough to serve as Lilly's link to the past, Det. Nick Vera (Jeremy Ratchford), a tough cop who's considered the go-to guy for getting a confession and Kat Miller (Tracie Thoms), the new girl on the team who is eager to prove her worthiness. Rush sees her new assignment as a turning point in her career, when she decides to make it her business to make sure that no victim is ever forgotten.

The summary mainly focuses on the girl more than the other characters of the show. But, the show isn't always focusing on her life, and story. It's pretty good, kinda like CSI. But it solves cases that haven't been solved. From maybe 10 years ago, or maybe even 20 years ago.

I like how in the begginning, they show flashbacks. Ahh, that's so cool. xD; Got me hooked on the show right away. And when they're interviewing, they flash it back from when they were younger, to how they look now. (: If you've watched the show, I think you know what I mean. Lmfao.

It says that it airs at 9pm on CBS. But, for me, I live in Minnesota, and it air's at 8pm. You do the math from there. xD;

lyrical lies: PSHAH~! I had it planned out 3 days earlier, but I just never posted it up. lmfao. I think it was because I was lazy, and than I saw how Emo my profile was without any threads. So.. yeah. LMFAO. OOOH, OHHHH. Weird, I havent' seen those episodes. O_O; But, you know the one in the begginning, the mother's kinda.. crazy. And on her son's birthday, they light the cake up with candles, and she kept on staring at the fire and stufff. And I forgot what she said, but she eventually ends up at a mental institute. I love this show. It is one of my favorites! I also love how they do the flashbacks and the songs that they play on the show are so good.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Oooh, I actually saw that episode! It was pretty sad... sad.gif

They open up the case b/c an old lady dies, and they bring in who is supposed to be her son (who hadn't seen her since he was 8-ish), but when he goes to ID her, he says that wasn't his mom. He IDs a sketch of her in the cold case Jane Doe folder, and it takes off from there. In the flashbacks at the mental institution, the mother makes friends with the other ladies who were stuck there (one b/c she drew things that were "inappropriate").

She wasn't exactly murdered... (as in 1st or 2nd degree.. it would've been closer to negligent homicide?) She was left to die in a playground in the snow after... well, that might be considered a spoiler. wink.gif

nice to see other cold case fans. i just finished watching "knuckles up" (its the one about the prep school boy who ends up in a trashcan in the bad part of philly) and, as usual, i cried at the end. I think it was the song. The Fray 'How to Save a Life.' The best part of Cold Case is the music they play at the end. and Scotty Valens.

Has anyone seen the episode about the gay cops? At first, I was really excited cause they were some good looking cops and then they started making out and I was all "oh man. they WOULD be gay. all the good ones are" so that was kind of disappointing but then i cried...again.

it's funny because i watch a lot of these types of shows (without a trace, csi, law & order) but those other ones don't even make me sad. cold case can get me bawling like a baby.

whoaa is this all there is to the cold case thread ohmy.gif
awesome show! i love how they structure the show lol especially when the 'shadows' of the past characters interlap with the present. the soundtrack is great too. they really set the mood lol, but it seems recently most of the cases are less of the far past and more of the recent past? i prefer it when they dig up cases from 50+ years ago because you can really see how the characters have changed and how the next generation is affected + shows how much the past affects everything. LOVE this show.
