STATS

EXTRA CURRICULARS
I have been on the school baseball team every single year. It's the largest commitment on my part besides school, we practice year-round even when it's cold and during the season we practice everyday except Sunday...I also hope to be playing baseball in college so thats another factor I have to consider when I apply.
School clubs
uh..none
Other
I was awarded college credit for 2 courses I took in the summer of 2005.
SCHOOLS I'M THINKING OF: (I'm still all over the place here..)
Carnegie Mellon
Rice University
Stanford
NYU
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
*CUNY Honors Baruch/CCNY/Hunter (depends on what I am studying)
*SUNY Binghamton/Stony Brook
UCLA
UC Berkeley
UNC
Stanford
these can be best classified as reach schools, and I am fully aware of it:
Columbia Engineering
Cornell
Tufts
Brown
Princeton
Caltech
*I live in New York City
I am most interested in what people call the "New Ivies," which are listed here:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14325172/site/newsweek/page/0/
My goal is to be playing varsity baseball at a prestigious college. And quite frankly, if there is a spot open for me to play baseball at any prestigious college (especially the Ivies or New Ivies), I would attend, although I do believe my best chances lie in the DII/DIII level. Club baseball wherever there isn't a varsity team (like Carnegie Mellon or NYU) is fine, too.
I also have absolutely no idea what I want to major in. At this point, I'm leaning towards the sciences (don't know which), business, or economics.
Reachs: Stanford, Berkeley (Out of State), UCLA (Out of State) Being out of state of the UCs hurts a lot
Matches: Carnegie Mellon, NYU, and Rice
Don't know much about the other schools.
Unless your a recruited athlete, its not going to help your substantially for admissions. Your SAT IIs are on the low side of most of your schools, even your Math IIC is pretty low, I mean whats the percentile for a 740 like 80th or something? All the smart math people take Math IIC and it definitely makes anyone who gets lower then 750 look bad. Also your rank is a bit low even for one of the top schools in the nation.
Are you applying NYU CAS or Stern? I'll probably apply stern

SCHOOLS I'M THINKING OF
my dream school was stanford but i lowered my standards.
i guess i would be fine with uc berkley, ucla, nyu, u of chicago, etc.
Reachs: Stanford, UC berkley (Out of State), UCLA (OOS) (SATs too low, you probably need 2200+, to have a chance)
Matchs: NYU, U of Chicago (they weigh a lot on the essays, so you need an outstanding essay)
