Is there a big difference between an Acura TSX and the Honda Accord (except for the fact that they're from "different" companies)? My friend who has an Accord was saying that there's no real difference between his car and my car (Acura TSX) except the coupe vs 4 door thing =____=...

If this topic is inappropriate, feel free to close it ._.

Acura is Honda's luxury brand. Your TSX is more expensive and somewhat more luxurious than an Accord

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

well it depends. The accord has 2 versions, the v6 and the 4 cyl; whereas the tsx is only a 4 cyl.

The TSX cost more, its the more "upscale" brand than the accord. In europe the Accord looks almost identical to the USA Acura TSX.

I think the TSX is smaller... less interior room, not as bulky, etc. etc. as the Accord.

The TSX is getting a facelift soon in 2009 so by then, the current TSX has a smaller engine but is more luxurious.

TSX's 2.4L I4 DOHC K series motor > Accord's 3.0 V6 SOHC J Motor

think you'd have to have a lil more than bolt-ons for the tsx to catch up to a stock v6 accord tho...

If you are comparing honda with acura (which are the same company anyway) then I think the TL is in the same league as the Accord as the TL is the more luxury version of the accord.
I am poor. Please spare a dollar if you see me :)

Nah, the TSX is more comparable to the accord as if you go to Europe, the TSX there is called the Accord.

K-Pro, Skunk2 intake, header, and exhaust will get you 13.6 in a quarter mile. smile.gif

You're right, the TSX is called the Accord in the Japanese and European markets. However, there are slight differences as with the engine and the interior configuration. The Accord sold in the states is actually called the Honda Inspire in Japan, this car actually has its interior switched with the Accord; the TSX has the Inspire's interior and vice versa. The Honda Inspire seems to be a larger car and therefore probably marketed more as a family oriented car. As for the TSX, I drove both cars and I feel like the TSX is sportier than the Accord. More luxurious? That's hard to say, the Accord (w/ Leather and Navi) and the TSX both have relatively nice interiors. But since the TSX has virtually no options you can configure other than the Nav, its cheaper for Honda to produce and thereby being cheaper to buy for the consumer. Honestly though, Accords with V6 and NAVI are outrageously expensive in comparison (they are easily over 30k).

Why can't you be . . . the part of me that's missing?
Instead of leaving me for some other.
Say we're perfect for each other . . .

That'd be crazy if it was true.

Found this article just as a reference. The best they could do with the same mods was low 15's.

Whoever did the 13.6 must have been one hell of a driver. tongue.gif

how can skunk's TSX be that fast in the quarter mile? i know it's modded but a 7.0 0-60 time does not = 13.6 in the quartermile. not even close. a car that usually runs in the low 5's or upper 4s goes in the mid 13s.

The TSX was the REAL Accord - it was rebadged in America and sold as an Acura. The Accord we have here is a fugly bloated USDM designed and manufactured in America FOR Americans. Albiet it is now exported to some asian countries as the Honda Inspire...

Please dont be a magazine racer. That chart is way off (except for the stock tsx specs). What kind of M3 runs low 15's in the 1/4. Even the older E36 m3 runs low 14's stock with an average drive.

My coworker has a 6sp TSX with CAI, SSR race header, full exhaust, 50 shot + k-Pro tuned. He only managed high 13's with a 2.0 60ft (note the 60ft... shows a good driver). I see bolt on + k-pro'd TSX's all the time and they cant even break mid to high 14's. Unless that skunk2 mod car is racing downhill with a 1.7 60ft or better, he aint even going to knock on mid 14's.

Sure, the k24 does make power.... 230-240whp easily with minor bolt on mods. But weighing in at over 3200 pounds, that power isnt going to move the tsx down the track that much faster.

I have a 2007 Accord EX 4 cylinder and a 2004 Acura TSX. The TSX was about 8K more but is simply a much nicer car. Accord is more plastic and flimsy.

TSX has the following luxuries:

1. Built in garage/gate door opener
2. Outside temperature gauge
3. Navigation/fuel monitoring
4. Sunroof
5. Heated seats
6. Fog lights

Accord seems to get a little bit better gas mileage.

Oh...I raced a Honda Accord V6 with my TSX. Got smoked. sad.gif
