Go Astros! Game 1 vs Braves in about 15 minutes...
and though when I first read it I thought it was one heck of an optimistic article, it is a pretty heartening read for any Astros fan...
Why Houston could win it all..

Har har, such an Astros hater...=P
May I ask if you're a little bitter over Phillies being nudged out of the playoffs (noticed you're from Penn)?
But yeah, do have to wonder if this miraculous spurt of run support is going to last...

actually, i'm more bitter about the phillies being unable to win at least 1 game w/ houston. that's all they had to do. they went 0-6. they were even leading some of the games in the last series with them...but they lost it in typical philly fashion.
as for run support...no...i don't think it will continue for them. the braves are too good. the cards are too good. i think the astros would need a miracle to make it to the world series.

Yeah...since the Astros definitely have their own "typical fashion" for choking at some freaking inopportune times, I feel for ya.
I disagree with you on the Braves being too good, but the Cards worry me.
Who are you rooting for?

Game 1 was great; they did better than I though they would do and I'm a die-hard fan but was really worried before the game. Everyone says that game 2, w/ Clemens n Smoltz, will be low-score but I still think the Astros will get at least 5 runs. Why? cuz the Braves' bulllpen's worse than ours
Let's chop up those Braves n move onto the Cards. I predict that we're gonna sweep them too cuz Carpenter isn't as good as everyone says he is. The one I think we should worry about is Mulder.
This is our year. I FEEL it. Can't you tell? It's in the air. BTW, I'd give my right arm (or both of my arms) to go to game 3 cuz I know there isn't gonna be a game 4 but I'm so broke.
BTW, Astros do deserve a separate thread, not lumped in w/ that other baseball thread (the one predicting who'll win)

Carpenter, Mulder and Morris easily matchup with Clemens, Oswalt and Pettite. Not to mention the fact that the Cardinals have a vastly superior offensive and defensive team.
In addition, the Cardinals have the better fourth starter. Suppan has been ridiculous over the last month and Marquis isn't anything to piss on. Both are superior to the guys the Astros have been throwing out there.

Totally makes up for the fact that I just wasted my study time =D
Wish I was in Minute Maid Park right now...
Crazy game, huh. Ausmus playing 1B at some point, and Clemens as closer. Not to mention exhausting our bench.
But ahhhh awesome game! Go 'Stros!
