i love this manga, i keep on reading it even though i am now official confused with the story line. i just want to see the relationships develop lol, i really should re read it but i haven't got time!

I felt reeeeeeeeeeally bad for Zero in Chapter 40. His situation is something not to like. But at the same time, I loved the brotherly interaction between Zero and Ichiru Although I can't really say that shooting him was a brotherly thing to do

I love this story. It's dark and as --13 hearts. said, it's really realistic.

Chapter 40 felt soo short

usually mangas either have good art but a horrible storyline, or bad art but a great storyline. VK is one of the fews that actually have both. it has an even amount of action, suspense, mystery, and romance. its like we get a taste of every aspect of the story

In a way i liked chapter 40, im glad he also knows that Zero and his parents truly cared for him.

I liked chapter 40 where Zero and Ichiru are just talking to each other.
I thought that it was really cute and that it shows that even though
they've had differences they still love each other.

^me too! I knew Zero & Ichiru were close when they were kids, but I didnt expect Zero to cling THAT much to Ichiru

I wanna see Yuuki again....she was barely presented in chapter 40. I need to see her vampire skills...hehe. KanamexYuuki all the waaay!!

chapter 40 felt really short and i saw unexpected that happen that i would have never thought it would come true and there was i guess fan service which kind of disturb me and i am so glad that they were just brothers but i didn't know that zero cared for his brother that much and i thought it was so cute awww.... after zero drinks from ichiru zero just transform into something??? was not sure caz there was only shadows..

yuki didn't appear much either and me guess what? zero+yuki all the way still

This manga started really simple but now it seems complicated. It's getting better then just the usual "I am vampire, I want blood," type of thing. lol

I TOTALLY LOVE the Brotherly love action. It was a bit of fan service but... omigawd!! Zero FTW!~ <33 I really though Ichiru was gonna stay a villain in this story and stay alive until the end .... but I guess not.

Chapter 40 was interesting....kind of confusing so...If Ichiru and Zero were one, they would be really powerful. Since Zero is the stronger one because he took Ichiru's hunter power thingy unconsciously when he was young. Then Zero can "eat" Ichiru and take away his power and change?
Maybe this is the fragmentation, Kaname was on about in the previous chapter?

I love Vampire Knight so much! I don't know how I started liking it though. I think it's because I watched some MMV (manga music videos) and I was completely hooked. And now there's an ANIME! but the drawings in the anime doesn't seem the same like in the manga. But oh well, whens there's vampires, IM THERE!

I think the anime is a little corny compared to the manga...because the manga has the better art of course. But the anime is still helpful with the imagination of the voices (Miyano Mamoru as Zero Kiryu=Love ^^) Yeah Ch. 40 was much too short and I wasn't sure if Zero fully consumed Ichiru or his blood inside his body...it still kind of confused me was that because Shizuka Hio died and he was to remain as a vampire?

How many volumes are there? Is it 8, because wikipedia says it's still ongoing...but do they mean ongoing in Japan or in the US (I think there are only 4 volumes released so far, right)?

Chapter 40 is annoying and doesn't tell us anything
except that his brother forgives him or whatever. Annoying.

It's a shame that we have to wait 30 days to view it and then get a super short chapter like that.

Love it. The art is awesome. I love all her work that she has done. It is incredible. One problem with Vampire Knight i found is that i can't choose between Zero or Kaname! Which really suck because i want yuuki to be with both of them.

^ I want Yuuki with Zero, but given how much it's been suggested from the beginning of Yuuki's crush/attraction for Kaname (and Kaname feels that way too, sometimes possessively I think), I think she'll end up with him and Zero as her "knight," loyal servant. But this is all a guess.

I think it's taking his blood, only saying because in other scenes the way they say eat/take means like take the whole of the being (like the essence) by taking the blood. I guess you could say that the blood is like the "soul/being" of a vampire. That is why when Zero took in Kaname's blood he could "feel" Kaname in him. (then again i could be wrong since i'm not going off of the japanese. ) LOL Zero keeps getting a power-up.

Has anyone read Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles? ... the Vampire Knight's storytelling and great artwork, makes me think that if Anne Rice's vampires stories became a manga it would feel like Vampire Knight. Also, in the Anne Rice's version of vampire, there are cases of vampire "spirit" taking over other bodies, which makes me wonder if the mangaka was inspired by Anne Rice... (just a speculation... )
