Okay so I started having major problems today with my parents' computer. Recently, there were a bunch of viruses and spyware on the computer which I got rid of using Avast & Ad-Aware. Then this morning, when I turned on the computer, the desktop stopped loading. Well, the computer would load normally and then everything in the background would close (like icons, taskbar), and I wasn't even able to get the Taskbar Manager up. Ctrl+alt+dlt doesn't work.

I thought it might be some kind of virus or spyware but I'm not sure... if it is that, I can't seem to get rid of this. Every time Avast runs, it keeps saying that it found adware in a Windows system file (c:/windows/system32/drivers/cmdriver.sys). But it won't let me quarantine or move or delete it.

Anyhow, so right now, all I can do is open up my browser really quick before my desktop loads. Avast still pops up. But I'm unable to open files or use most programs. I can't even open up System Recovery, because the desktop loads and then closes down any program I have open.

Oh yea and this computer didn't come with a reformat disc or anything... so I can't reformat with that.

I think I may have deleted a file I shouldn't have when I was deleting viruses and adware, and that's why Windows isn't running properly. But I'm not sure.

Please help!

Try starting up into safe mode by pressing F8 before Windows boot screen.

Then check your Ad-aware's quarantine files and recover that way if you'd like.
I don't like you! >_<
