I got my first ticket just the other day for accidentally turning somewhere I wasn't suppose to. I know it's summer and all but it rained like heck 2 days ago =_= I was driving to work from another place cause I had to pump gas and get something to eat for my brother since it was his first day working. And my car is pretty old, honda dx hatchback, I believe.. O_O and it was fogging up cause of the rain and I wasn't able to see the small little sign that said "do not turn on left" (neither did my brother or boyfriend see it) so I'm planning to go to court and have "the talk" do you think they'll let me out of my first ticket?

That's the "no turn" sign that yeah..

They might bump it down, but they're not going to let it go.

^ how do you know they wont let it go? anythings worth a shot. i've heard of many cases where they let people off. good luck in court

it also depends where you live. i live in MA and your first speeding offence doenst affect insurance (unless its criminal speeding) if you go to court just be honest with the judge, always polite and repsectful and you might be able to get it lowered or get away with it. its worth a shot i've gotten away with much worsee

It's worth a shot ...

They'll most likely not take it out completely ... but anything can happen.

Just go to court, be nice and polite, tell the judge your situation completely, and bring your bro and BF as a witness ...

Because there is in fact a sign. And she can not use the excuse "i did not see it".

If thats your excuse your going to use in court good luck...... I'm sure if the court system was brand new and your the first person to actually use that line. But Come on im sure everyone fighting there violations first thing is "i did not see it" etc. etc..

Your best bet is probably a lesser fine.

seriously, if you go to court... you are just going to piss off the judge. what they hate most is "i didnt know" or i didnt see it" excuses. ignorance will not let you get away with a ticket. the judge might even tell you to retake your test and get your eye sight re examined for using that excuse.

The only chance for this ticket to go away is if theres tree branches growing too long and blocking it from view; which there isnt so so just pay the ticket and go to traffic school

why are you so opposed to going to court? admitting your faults and facing the full penalties might be "noble" but honestly if you don't even try to contest it in court I think that's a big mistake. Just be honest, be humble. it's your first ticket so judge could be lenient.

IMHO trying to get a reduced penalty > not doing anything

There are lots of websites out there made to help people fight tickets. google is your friend
