Okay, so this is nothing drastic, but its been bugging me.
so both of my computers have been showing this [seebelow] windows/ms-dos config every time i turn it on. (more info below)

the weird thing is that it appears on BOTH my computers.
the way they're connected is through the modem box .. for DSL.
one computer is a 2001 XP & the other is a '06 XP.

any computer-savvy soompiers understand what the problem is?
i really appreciate your help!

It's doing some sort of emulation for a 16-bit DOS application?

Anyways, looking at some technical forums it looks like it might be a trojan. Run spybot and see what it comes up with. Apparently this is sometimes caused by a couple of executables having made it onto your machine: cmd.com and a regedit.com in Windows\sysytem32 folder
You *should* have a cmd.exe and a regedit.exe, the .com versions are malware that get priority to execute over the .exe files.

I certainly don't have those .com files on my machine.
