Eating a lot of fruit isn't bad, it's not going to make you gain weight. But you have to make sure you're getting enough protein & other vitamins from other sources of food. Hope that helps.

but i think it all depends on what kind of fruit it is.
but maybe if you want to shed some pounds.
then maybe try some grapefruit or oranges
after every meal? i heard that it cleans all the fat
in your stomach :)

ditto.
even though fruits have natural sugar, sugar is still sugar. most of the candies and things we eat that are bad for us are high in fructose corn syrup, and fructose is natural, so that is a bit misleading. and though i can`t imagine someone getting fat off eating apples, there are plenty of other natural foods besides fruits that your body needs. if you`re trying to lose weight, i suggest eating foods high in fiber to keep you full throughout the day. broccoli is pretty darn good for that. plus it`s high in antioxidants and vitamins while devastatingly low in calories. overall i think vegetables have higher nutritional values than do fruit, though i must admit fruits taste a whole lot better :S.
haha, but yeah. fruits aren't bad. there are just better things out there.
[[ but on the flip side, there are worse things out there too ]].

i do agree with your mom though. eating too much fruit may hinder your fat loss progress depending on which fruits you eat. some fruits contain high levels of fructose. although its a natural version of fructose, fructose being a simple sugar (carb), can be quickly converted to fat if not metabolized. on the other hand, the nutrients found in most fruits outweigh the fact that it contains high levels of fructose.
personally, i wouldn't recommend eating more than 4 servings of fruit daily if you're try to lose fat.
also, there is no such thing as a fruit that takes more calories to digest than it contains.

even if the sugar isn't bad for you, they do contain high amounts of it
eat lots of fruits like strawberry; they contain low level of sugar and all that junk..
along with cherries; eating a lot of them won't do harm to you
DONT eat too much bananas; one equals to like a dozen strawberries

Even water.
A couple years ago, on the news, there was a story about this one girl who only drank water and a little bit of milk and only ate vegetables and her brain started to swell. It was really weird.

True. It's the opposite of dehydration.. you have too much water and not enough of anything else (salt, especially), and you could die. o.O Of course this is in extreme circumstances.
Just make sure you're eating a balanced diet. I would also suggest eating more vegetables instead. Celery is awesome, very high in fiber and "negative" calories. Make sure you're getting enough protein as well. I don't eat much red meat, so I usually go for chicken, lean pork, and lots of tofu and green leafy veggies (like spinach).
