My trip computer is telling me 15MPG as of today... all city driving and all premium fuel. I typically get 14-16 MPG city.
No, my car is not a minivan or SUV, its a sedan. Its just too much stop and go and mostly hills (San Francisco)!. On the freeway (long trip on the freeway), i've achieved a 26-29MPG cool.gif .

2005 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally: 28mpg on average. It usually doesn't dip below that.

I tested it twice already... put in a full tank, drive it until the engine light goes on. You can avg around another 14 miles before your car just wont go anymore.

My honda CR-V gets around average 25 gallons, I do 90% highway driving with cruise control on, in 4th gear(auto) around 2.5k RPM's.
I just changed my air filter, oil, oil filter and checked tire pressure. I think the mileage is pretty decent, the only thing I would have to change to make sure my car is getting the milage is the o2 sensor.... but I dont have a jack or the tools to get in there, gotta head over to my friends house but no time T_T

My car seems like it drinks more gas after it dips below the 1/2 full line, does it feel like this for anyone else?

My '02 Galant does that. After 1/2 tank, the fuel gauge goes down faster. But the light goes on only after the meter goes way below E. (As opposed to the Lancer whose light goes on a bit above the E line.)

^^^ The funny thing is that the purpose of the trip computer was to help the driver optimize his/her fuel economy. If you see the overall MPG dropping, that means better lay off the gas pedal... the rate it decreases or increases slows as you consume more gas, so don't expect anything to dramatically change when near empty.

I do remember having to drive my dad's old minivan, a 93 Mazda MPV for a few months after my old car got wrecked, and that thing was downright slow, and got 11-13MPG city and it was well maintained... POS, so I know the pain of terrible gas MPG.

I also know the pain of filling a near 20 (fill about 15-17 gallons each time) gallon tank in my car per fill up... ($55+). I should also give everyone a warning about letting the car's gas tank run below 1/4 of capacity:

If you let the car run low close to E or less than 1/4 of tank capacity, you do risk slowly damaging your fuel pump, as the gas level drops in the tank, there is no more gasoline to surround the fuel pump to help it cool down from pumping, and on top of that, if the level is lower, its gonna have to pump 'harder' and heat up more, without gasoline surrounding it to cool it down. If and when the fuel pump fails, you will be stranded...

I remember a month or two ago when gas prices were way high, I would never be able to hear VTEC sad.gif That's how bad it was lol. Thank goodness gas is about half a dollar cheaper per gallon. I can actually afford to play with my car again lol

Haha, I never hear my VTEC. My VTEC is at 4.5k but I only go to 3.5k.
