Help I Need To Gain Weight! I am so out of ideas!

Hey everyone! i am 17, and i am about 5'4 at the most. i weigh a measly 97-98 pounds? I had been undergoing huge amounts of stress lately and i dropped a lot of weight. the thing is I hate how i look. I can see my ribs partly for gosh sakes! Whats a semi fast way to gain weight thats HEALTHY? I have a rediculously fast metabolism so thats why it is so hard for me to gain weight. i already tried bulk up shakes and i just cant stomach the things. they are just gross....so they arent an option. i wouldnt care about my weight but it really bothers me that i can see part of my ribs. Any help is appreciated THANKS!

Try to eat lots of meat....feel free to eat pasta and big carbs. And of course fast food. lol.

aish so lucky to be thin! haha.. all i do is eat a little and i gain weight @.@ try eating ltos of carbs and protein... just dont overdo it cos then it wont be healthy anymore haha.. good luck!

Bulking agents won't work unless your working out I don't think, unless your trying to get fat. just eat more, an try not to stress out.

Also try eating more and increasing activity level.

nah just eat more regulary~~ even if ur not hungry just eat smile.gif
eat the healthy stuff too... not just junk food!!

Don't just stuff yourself with oily & fatty foods. Try and gain weight healthily. x] Carbs are good because they contain a lot of energy. Also, conveniently two days ago in the newspaper it said that eating cold things stops your body metabolising so fast. The coldness 'numbs' your stomach making it work slower. The coldness, I'm guessing also slows down the enzymes in your stomach so less food energy can be absorbed.

um, that's kinda unhealthy, lol

eat more and exercise more. and of course try not to stress yourself out, my cousin is 5'1 and weighs 85lbs...that's what she's doing.

umm i would say try increasing the portion of food you eat, not all at once but little by little.
you should still eat healthy, but in larger portions.

try to gain muscles... girls won't really get the muscle mass guys do, so we'll still have some muscles and look slim at the same time.

And try to find a way to relieve your stress, since that seems to be the problem.

I have the same trouble ~ Though I agree get muscles, lot's of people envy us thin people so don't get fat, instead help it become stronger.

If you're trying to gain weight, I recommend eating nuts like peanuts, walnuts, etc. Occasionally, I would eat a peanut butter banana sandwich on wheat. Nuts has healthy fats and a load of protein. I would just recommend that you should probaly work out to use that protein for muscle. you wouldn't want all that protein to turn into fat.

I think that you should find a way to get away from your stress first, what else you wont gain weight no matter how much you eat! Good luck! =D

bulk up. add in strenght workouts. you'll not only burn fat but get super killer muscles. especially on a thin frame like yours

instead of drinking/eating low fat dairy products go with the fuller fat type? like 2%-whole milk

eat lots of lean protein and essential fatty acids, not just the "trans" and "sat fats" so like, salmon, fish, chicken.. lean red meats. protein will help you bulk up/gain, it does not by any means make one thinner just by eating it.

eat every like 2 hours or so? i don't know. but make sure you eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack ?

you can always try going to sleep on a full-ish stomach, then the extra unburned calories can go into becoming pounds on the scale? i don't think that's too unhealthy, actually i don't know

When you eat too much fruit/veggies, they are very very full of fiber and fiber just goes through your system and comes out. that's why most fruits/veggies are called like zero calorie/empty calorie foods because they just end up burning off more calories than they contain because the body has to keep on digesting that fiber and keep it moving along. so- if you eat only them and a lot, trying to gain weight.. it might just make you lose a little more. and you might get bloated b/c the fiber and all that stuff will just collect in your intestines/rectum/tummy as waste product. and you'll poop a lot. so, make sure to eat like the right types. you can eat avacadoes, they fattened me up. and soy beans/edame .. snack on roasted soy beans / soy nuts b/c they're high in the right fats and will fill you out perfectly. and they're very full of the right types ot vitamins/fats

just watch what you eat and if it's stress related, maybe you need to just collect yourself every once in a while and think for your well being. just make sure to always remember to eat a meal, don't skip for whatever means b/c health should come first. if you can't remeber to eat- schedule it in or something.

I used to have the same problem, I was so grossed out crazy.gif . Then I started eating three meals a day with a lot of fish (not a lot of fast food though). That seemed to work out for me because I gained a few pounds and my tummy became a little chubby blush.gif .

you should eat healthy.. and try to gain muscles.. don't eat fast food though.. you don't want all trans fat and saturated fat.. try eating fish!
