My 13 year old cousin, let's call her D, has been jogging with my every morning whenever I'm over at their house. Recently both of our moms started talking about periods and exercising which led to the discussion of whether or not D should be exercising after getting her period. I'm not sure if it's because they're traditional Chinese parents and this info was passed down to them from my grandparents, but they said that D shouldn't exercise after getting her period. I've forgotten the details of what they said but the general reason was that it'd make her vagina "drop" down(at this point, I was slightly uncomfortable).
Since I have very limited knowledge of periods and whatnot, I was wondering if this is even remotely true because D's wondering and....it also beats jogging alone every morning haha. Could it possibly be from the blood that's stored there until she has her period and the constant up and down motion?
And yeah, I'm a guy.

Okay, I knew there was something fishy about what they were saying, it didn't make much sense to me..but seeing as how I'm not a female I wasn't too sure. Thank you everyone for clearing this up haha, she'll be glad to know exercising won't make it drop ;D.

I'm a cheerleader and I exersize almost everyday --- period or not.
It doesn't seem to effect me at all and I don't think my vagina is "dropping" anytime soon.

HAHAHAA~~~
the problem is, is it uncomfortable for her to run while having it?
for me, I tend to forget I have my period when I do so it doesn't matter to me either way when I'm exercising
for my friend, she literally.. spazzes.. like when she sits he legs are like glued together and she walks like a duck and doesn't like to walk when she has it (I like to tease her about this
so it depends on how she feels with it~

exercising is good when you have a period..
i don't think it makes the flow come out more...

Yes it does~!
I exercised a lot during my younger years and I never had any period pain but now that I've stopped it hurts for me. I really should start exercising again.
Exercising also keeps periods very regular, a sign of health.
The whole "dropping of the vagina" thing is totally untrue... an old wives tale...
Edit:
Wait, did you mean the vagina physically drooping or are you talking about the release of more blood??
Well, I suppose it doesn't matter... the amount of blood released is really a bodily thing and you can't do anything about it.

Sorry for the technical talk. ._.;; Ahaha.
Or maybe they're referring to the cramps... Sometimes the cramps make me feel like my uterus is dropping out of my vagina or something. -.- But it just feels like it... It doesn't happen. ^^;;
But exercise doesn't cause this... I've heard that it's actually recommended for girls (and women) to exercise while they're on their period. It lessens their cramps or something.
