I put up a post in what car should I get and no lies I really did get a car.

1990 240sx smile.gif with the ka24e sad.gif but its ok its my first car

For somereason looks like my sister stole the family digital camera. BTW shes in korea right now for study abroad. So I couldnt get pics. I just took one from my phone as I look down from the patio.

I got it for 2000 dollars while it had 98,000 miles.

mods

stage 1 lightweight
aftermarket airfilter (lol first i thought it was an after market intake as I posted in what car should I get)
some timing done on the TLC
seems like thats all done.

EVerything is stock. and the rims I dont even know what those are looks like spare? I dont know or hoodless.

What do you guys think? should I do anything to do car? or just daily drive it untill it breaks down and get anotherr car later.

EDIT
EDIT
EDIT

Well since I dont have a digital camera sorry if pics are bad. I just took 2 more closer shots because its a pain txting them to my email each time. I also have a back shot but was to lazy to edit the plate numbers so this was best I can do. Phone camera sucks ftl.

98k miles? wow havent seen one of those in a while

Any other pics? We can't really see the car from all the shadow...

There decent cars, take care of it well and it will last for a long time. (almost at 200k baby! started at 100k....)

I dont know thats what the previous owner told me. The AC and plumbing has been removed and he said unnecessary plastic and metal has been removed from the engine bay. I don't really know what the lightweight modification was but it dropped 150lbs.

Right now Im seriously looking at rims. Im looking at Rota spltsteams, circuit 10s, gt3s. Is there anyway to get them with tires USED for 600 or less?

suspension? well Im no drifter yet I just want to take those ugly rims off right now. Yes the headlights stick up alittle I don't know whats wrong. Previous owner said somethings wrong with the lights and somehow from turning on the lights the odometer went to 172k.

It's your first car, ride it til it dies. I know it's just for aesthetics, but you'll be riding a lot higher with your new rims if you don't have some lowering springs.

There's nothing wrong with steelies... well I wouldn't daily drive them though haha. Wait till you get some suspension and pick up a decent set of rims.. if not just pick up a set of SE rims... please try not to rice out another 240... plenty of people out there doing it.

Is black rota circuit 10s rice? yeah im not trying to rice the car or anything on my future 240 I was thinking of getting the rotas fix the flip up lights, suspension?, exhaust, then a momo shift boot because the current one is kinda torn. that all.

umm I think im gonna get rims first before suspension because they look good in the pics but there are some areas that have rust and smalll cracks and stuff. any suggestions on rims. I do have the money actually dont for the moment but when I sell my paintball gun hahah I think I'll have like 600.

any suggestions around $500? I need to get tires too so yeah...(I dont know maybe my parents will help out on the tires) I was thinking the rota circuit 10s cuz there pretty cheap and don't look that bad. New ones on ebay go for like $434 theres a listing 108 per rim. plus tax I dont know $470?

s13- thanks
fusion- umm yeah Im pretty noob on cars. hopefully I'll get to know more later

would carfax tell the exact mileage. WEll mann the engines running strong.

I learned two things about my car today. I took my car out to get it registered under my name and im 16 so my mom had to co sign it. mann I stalled so much. Manual was harder than I thought but I think Ill get use it to pretty fast.

another thing I learned. When I slow down the car IT squeals like crazy. I notice the rubber/plastic material on the coilovers are cracking. Does this mean I need new suspension? If so Ill probbaly get suspension before rims.

loong day today but yay I got 2008 stickers for my plates.

Car sounds like there's a bit of problems and I would say learn to drive your car first (or drive period) before fixing anything up.

Umm I wouldn't buy wheels for a car at stock height... they will look cool being in the box.. but once you put them on it will just get worse from there. I never liked Rota's too much... some off their off sets are too high and the lower off set wheels are too expensive... but not too bad for being knock offs. I have a set of D2's, i found out that 17x8.5 +35 won't clear front coilovers the hard way.

My suggestion is just fix the problems and leave it alone until you decide if you actually want to modify the car. Save up money in that time and just spend money on suspension stuff here and there, living in SoCal things will be a lot cheaper than most other places... and if you decide to rice out your car it will get hated on hardcore probably.

I can drive just learned stick because the 240 is manual and I just got it registered today (bought it the 28th). Don't worry about me driving though I spent alot of time on my parents RL just need a little touch up on stick. Well for first day I'm pretty okay on stick. Just 1rst gear is a little problem cuz the car goes a little rough when accel/let go of clutch. Probably when I drive it tommorow Ill get the hang of it.

I never though of ricing it nor did I ever liked cars that came out on fast and the furious. Ill probably go with your sugesstion on leaving it alone for now. I guess I got too hyped up about my first car and made a thread for it. I didn't realize I was way too noob to start spending money on the car.

Once I start driving my car around more often and knowing whats really wrong I'll start spending money on the car. I'll probably make another thread when I have the car modified to how I want it to be.

As of now I'm gonna stop asking what should I get or what not. You guys can say whatever you want "attention rainbow" or whatever but yeah I'm gonna leave this thread for right now lol I feel like a idiot now asking what should I do to the car haha. peace
