Concert promoters in Australia have released the following statement:

“It has become apparent that Christina will not be well enough to perform her last two Melbourne shows. Doctor’s have confirmed Christina has a viral upper respiratory tract infection with a high fever and abnormal coughing. They have prescribed complete bed rest for the next few days.

Christina Aguilera asked for the following message to be passed onto fans.

“I want to personally apologize to all of my fans for having to cancel my last two shows here in Melbourne. Unfortunately, I have fallen ill with a bad flu virus. This is one of the best cities in the world to perform in and I am truly disappointed that I won’t be able to share my show with you all.
Thank you for all of the continued love and support and I hope to perform for you all again next time.”

she should take a break with the baby and the hubby! ever since she entered the industry all she has been is work work work! that's why we all love her though!

i agree she is working rather hard happy.gif but she's gonna be ok. Having a baby kinda weakens your immune system. A couple of vitamins and a good week of resting and she will be ok.

A mother being ill doesn't mean her child will necessairly be affected since most mothers fall ill during the nine months, but I still thinks she needs to rest just to be safe.
