So I finally got the new Japanese album. Gave it a good listen for the past week and I have to agree with most people that the 4th album is a disappointment. It really wasn't that great. Too many of the extra songs listed in the singles where placed on the album so there wasn't much excitment since we've already heard like half the album.

The rest of the songs on the album where just mediocre...nothing really special. The only song I like was "Silent Screamerz". I knew from the moment the she released her "Do the Motion" single that the next album would be something different. She's branching out and trying different music types, which is a good thing but doesn't mean everyone's going to really like them. It took me a good month before I liked "Do the Motion"...it basically grew on me.

"Cosmic Eyes" sounds like some song you would hear as an Opening or Ending theme for an Anime song, which I don't mind. The song is okay. I really don't like "Dakishimeru"...I don't think that song will ever grow on me. "Outgrow~Ready Butterfly~" is interesting to say the least. Not the best vocals from her.

And it's great to see BoA writing lyrics to songs...I have to say the music they composed for those songs aren't really catchy. I can hardly listen to "Kimi No Tonari De" all the way through. The bonus song "First Snow" is nice, but nothing that truly wowed me.

The funny thing is I got the basic impression that this album was very Japanese...lolz...whatever that means, I guess. It's great cause she's hitting her target audience. Though I haven't read any reviews from Japanese fans or music sources stating their opinions on the album.

I by no means am turning into an anti or anything. I'm just stating my opinion on the album. I'll still continue to by her albums, both Korean and Japanese. Hey, even the best of artists have bad albums. This may be a pretty mediocre album, but her sales seem to prove what kind of Star Power she has. Hitting 2nd on the World Charts, holding steady around the Oricon charts, and making 2nd on the Korean charts.

but i also like silent screamerz. outgrow~butterfly is different but it grew on me! but like you said not the best vocals.

Most of her songs take time for them to grow on you. I always have to listen to it more than once. ^^

her Outgrow is back up #12 today...hope she will be able to break in top 10 tomorrow...

ps: IMO, this 4th album is not that bad...i enjoyed all of the song pretty much...i do agree that it was not that great due to fewer new songs. But if you haven't bought/collected all of these singles, then this album would be great...

Have you guys heard that Boa will go into acting at the end of this year as the earliest and will have to spend less time in Korea, according to Lee so man? What do you guys think?
personally, that's ok with me...will support whatever Boa wants to do.
