David has won nearly everything there is to win in football. He is doing these football (I will NEVER call it soccer) fans
a favour by highlighting the great game in the US, and this is the thanks he gets.

Just when I was coming around to the idea of David playing for the Galaxy actually working this happens. I hope he comes back to Europe after a year and puts this nonsense behind him.

I am FURIOUS.

To think he said on his blog yesterday, "I’ve been working really hard this week in the gym to try and get fit as quickly as possible and get playing again. As anyone who knows me is well aware, I love playing soccer and can’t wait to get out on the pitch and play a part in the upcoming games".

OMG I had no idea there were anti-beckham fans! He's so gorgeous! okok besides the superficiality, beckham is very talented and I don't know why anyone would expect him to play when he's injured. I think he's also giving soccer a huge boost in the states. It's not as big of a sport here than it is say everywhere else in the world (S. America, Europe & Asia esp).

people say that others are jealous/hating, but how much do they know about whats going on in the MLS?
do they know about how other players are getting salaries that barely cut minimum wage?
HARDLY anybody knew the MLS had this much money to spend, and then they go and offer up this giant contract out of nowhere?

a lot of people can see that a lot of Beck's decision to go to LA was for the money
the team has been on a horrendous slump the past seasons...why would a world class player join a crap team?

but after he joined LA, I just couldn't

maybe he will make the sport more popular, but so far the new fans have been people who don't even care much for the sport

its not just people who don't like Galaxy that don't like the idea of Beckham in the MLS
Galaxy fans are a bit angry because they're actually considering handing captainship over to Beckham from Donovan
and guys who have played long term for Galaxy are now getting overlooked for the new "superstar" player
