alright, i'm a rising senior in the nc area.
i'm trying to atleast start on college apps w/ 4 weeks of summer left.

1. i just got my senior schedule in yesterday and so far this is it.

ap calc.
ap earth and environmental.
ap world history.
ap british literature.
recitation/study hall.
honors chorus (i've been taking this 4 years long)

would it look better if i replaced the study hall with another ap class or possibly a 3rd language?
i have graduation project fall semester so i thought that having the break would be nice,
but if taking another class is gonna help me get into my top choice schools then it'll be worth the stress.
any advice?

by the way, i took 3 ap classes and no study hall junior year.

2. how important are officer/leadership positions?
i am a leader in most of my church activities.
but i am lacking in school-related organizations. (maybe cause my school sucks. =))
i am not saying that i am not involved in school functions, just not any positions.
i just found out that i didn't get chosen to be an officer in my chorus which was really disappointing.
anyway, any similar experiences?

3. do colleges require senior-mid year reports?
what if you do early action? (which are due in november)
i am currently #14 out of 500-ish people.
if i can get all A's in my ap classes like i did junior year,
my counselor thinks that i will most definitely end up in the top ten.

4. jobs? work experience?
i don't have a job-job like working at burger king or anything.
however, i did get paid by helping out family, who own a store in the mall.
i've been working there for a while now but other than that, nothing else.
mainly because my dad wants me to concentrate on studies only and also because i'm a spoiled brat. sweatingbullets.gif

ok, that wraps it up for me.

thanks for answering anything you can.

1. why would you want to do that? enjoy your senior year
2. important, but wont raise you from the dead or kill you
3. private schools usually do.
4. I don't quite understand your question. I think the most important things are your grades and sat scores.

1. I'd just keep the study hall. 5 AP classes seems like a lot ... I'm going to be a junior next year and 2 AP/1 honors already seems like a lot ... Senior year I'm going to have 4 AP also .... You're SAT should be able to balance out that 5th AP class ...

2. Also, leadership positions are nice on your ap, but they won't kill you ... My high school is small (25 per grade this year sleep.gif) and we don't have any clubs and such ... At least I got chosen for Yearbook Editor in Chief (which is going to be hell though ....)

3. Don't know if colleges require it. I know my school requires a vocational project per year of high school to graduate ... >.<

4. It's good to get volunteer and intern experience ... Try volunteering at like a hospital or interning at a business ...
