im just starting the app, and im not sure about my username selection (want a username that relates to my name) because my school transcript name & SAT name i registered as, is different from my real legal name. does anybody know what to do?

Username doesn't matter at all, you could use your soompi username and it won't show up on your application or anything. Just go with whatever you're more comfortable with.
