it's WONDERFUL, even if i only get to come home for winter and summer. (thanksgiving, spring break, etc i stay at school)
i would highly suggest going to college in CA if you aren't a CA resident to begin with.
if you're worrying about out-of-state tuition, apply to private schools. the sticker price is more expensive, but unlike state schools, they actually have money to give out. true, your in-state tuition would probably be a bit cheaper, but i can almost guarantee you that you're going to pay less going to a private school than paying for OOS tuition.

I live in the US and I go to school in Canada, I go 1900 miles away for college from where I live. I worried about all that stuff then I realized that I worried for nothing because it wasn't as bad I thought it would be.

Sometimes, when You want to go somewhere else and tries really hard, you just can't at the end.
{edit}
You can always transfer out.

i have relatives in CA, so i've visited for brief periods of times, but never anything over a month.
as for your first year, i would DEFINITELY suggest dorming. it's part of the college experience and a very easy way to meet friends. afterwards, you and your friends that you meet during freshmen year can decide to rent an apartment together or whatever.

i'm trying not to stress about it, really.. but the pressure to get everything in order is just too much. i guess it also doesn't help that i'm sort of a perfectionist.
I have the same plans as you >_> haha
haha good luck to both of us.

yes. Dir en grey was the special guest for Deftones [Fall of Troy was opener] us tour this summer. They played on June 16th at milwaukee. My favorite out of the four, totally worth the bruises and two hour drive xP <3
yea. $ is my main concern for wanting to go out of state.. but i'm looking into scholarships right now, and i'll probably pick up pt jobs.
and i don't even live in chicago hahah

ah, Chicago weather kills. 90degrees one day, a 60degrees thunderstorm the next... i always get sick several times a year because my body can't adjust. D: I was actually thinking of going to univ wis/madison...my friends were accepted this year and they love it...just a thought.

i actually live in milwaukee LOL but i'm not a Dir En Gray fan... more of a YG one. was so heartbroken when they didn't come to the Midwest for their 10th anniversary. all in all, the Midwest deserves more! LMAO xP but yes, money is a huge problem. it sucks. i don't wanna burden my parents y'dig? tryna branch out and be independent, but it's hard... haha.

haha 2007 is Dir en grey's 10th year anniversary as well <3 (back in feb though--House of Blues Chicago live was amazing <3)
i'm not a huge fan of Korean music xDD;;
but yea. no one ever comes to the midwest. all asian artists always go to either the east or west coast TT^TT
and yes, univ is my big independent movement.. lol away from home and whatnot.. and i don't want to put the financial burden on my parents...they get enough of that from my sis :/ I probably will get some help but my goal is to try to provide for myself as much as i can without sacrificing too much so i can also have time for my studies.
