Can't Sleep Or Dont Wanna Go To Sleep?

p.s i tried drinking a decent amount of warm milk an hour before going to bed but that still doesnt work.
EDIT: seeing all the replies, for most ppl this probably start since summer but for me, this has always been the case... it happen to me for several years already but i was never concern about it until recently. I do sleep at 12-ish or later even on school night. There are some days i stayed until 7 in the morning , went to sleep for 2 hours and wake up again. My brain is really active at night, so for projects , essays and such, i always stay until 3, or 4 because that's when i start to pumping out ideas... I did some yoga and it didnt help. Even at days when i hang out with my friends all day, running around, playing sports and swimming for hours, my body wear out but not my brain... i could get really sleepy, and i know i am, but my brain just wont shut down. If i go to bed early like 9ish then i will still sleep around 12ish. The only times that i could fall asleep easily were when i was sick and have medicine that make me sleepy, even with that i still need to lay on bed for around half an hour. I tried counting sheeps, but my brain is too tire to that. I probably contradicting myself on that last sentence, but for me when i lie on the bed, i dont actually think THINk, but images just popping in on my head without me knowing and that's keep me up.

Around 9-10 PM I feel kind of sleepy, and then I'm eventually wide awake during midnight.
I stayed up until 5 A.M yesterday, because when I went to bed at 4 (I didn't charge my iPod D:), I couldn't fall asleep D:
And I woke up with a head-ache today =______=;
I recommend music I guess 8D That's what I use to fall asleep.
Some soft ballads would do hahaha.

i turn off the late and like get to bed but it takes me an hour to fall asleep
or idk but sometimes when i close my eyes to sleep
i see scary things when i close my eyes
so i open my eyes again and there goes bye bye sleep until an hour.

I think it was a habit when I use to stay up lateeeeeeee and then try to go to sleepearly - doesn't work for me now x-x;
I'm still awake and it's nearly 5:00am here! x-x

its horrible
i know EXACTLY wut u mean
once i wa actually SLEPY so i wasl ike omg i should go to bed now!
so i went to bed at 10pm i was rly tired
BUT I DIDNT FALL ASLEEP TILL 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It happens a lot during the summer. i think knowing the fact that i can sleep in the next day makes me stay up and not want to sleep.

I suggest you wake up early in the morning,
i've been waking up early 'cause of babysitting

I'm going through that too, and school's in session for me T^T
I get around 4 hours of sleep each weekday, and about 7 on weekends. I really want to sleep in but I'm busy on weekends, and I just can't seem to sleep early. Only about an hour ago I felt like dropping off to sleep, but now I can't get back to that drowsy stage. Ughhh! -0-

ahaa yaaa yesterday i went to bed at 11 pm, read till 11.30.. but didn't sleep till 5 cus my mom got up and she was like whadddtt ur still awake?
wake up earlier.. uhhhh.. do something reaaally tiring before you sleep. oh and my mind also thinks about random things so i just like try to think 'sleeeeep sleeeeep'. ahaha
