Summary for August week 2 chart:

No. 1 song: Fly To The Sky's "My Angel" remains No. 1 but F.T Island's "사랑앓이" (Painful Love) is rebounding and closing the gap again at No. 2. The top 2 songs only have a difference of 17 points. These 2 songs are far ahead of the competition and it looks like they will remain the top 2 songs for a while.

Biggest Mover of the week: It's the first time in this chart that a song repeats as the biggest mover. For the 2nd week in a row, Zia's "물끄러미" (Absentmindedly) is our biggest mover of the week, moving up another 11 spots to No. 16. This lovely ballad was composed by the top songwriting team of Cho Young Soo and Ahn Young Min, who has written many hits for SG Wannabe, See Ya, Kim Jong Kook, KCM, etc. Zia's album cover concept (with Kim Ok Bin on it) is quite similar to KCM, and she did have a duet with KCM on the album.

Hot shot debut: Not a lot of high debuts this week. Rumble Fish's "그대내게다시" (That Day, I Again) is our highest debut at No. 27. This digital single is a remake of Byeon Jin Sub's hit written by Kim Hyung Suk. Unlike their usual modern rock style, this ballad shows another side of Rumble Fish and the vocal of Choi Jini.

10. Brown Eyed Girls (feat. Lee Jae Hoon ) - 오아시스 (Oasis) - With BEG coming out to perform, the extra push finally gets this song into the top 10 this week. It's a good accomplishment considered this is a digital single. Surprisingly, this song is still the top overall airplay song in Korea for a few weeks already. Maybe it is due to the song's summer melody which is perfect for the season.

13. Yangpa - 그대를 알고 (Since Knowing You) - Up 7 spots this week, Yangpa is looking for her 2nd top 10 songs from this album, and she should get it next week. Her 5th album remains top 10 in sales even after more than 2 months of release.

15. M - Stomp - Moving up slower than expected, but still possible for a big jump next week. Like Kim Dong Wan's "Handkerchief", this song has yet to peak and with Min Woo performing on all the gayo shows, the song will definitely be more popular. We may be seeing 3 Shinhwa members (M, Dong Wan, and Hye Sung) in the top 20 at the same time pretty soon with Hye Sung's 2nd album just released.

29. Il Rak - 그래도사랑합니다 (I still love you) - Underrated R&B artist Il Rak is back with a digital single and a decent debut at No. 29. This song is written by famous songwriters Kim Do Hoon and Min Myung Ki. The music video is about how a cheating boyfriend has ruined everything for one woman.

30. Black Pearl - 좋은걸어떡해 (What Can I Do If I Like It) - Another highly anticipated debuting girl group, from the record company that produced SG Wannabe and See Ya. This song is also written by Cho Young Soo, an R&B song with traditional instruments arranging. If you like SG Wannabe's "Arirang" and "One Summer Night Dream", you should like this song too.

33. Mo Ga Dang - 오에오 (O.A.O.) - YG's MGD is back with a new single, a mixture of hip-hop, R&B, and funk make this song enjoyable to listen. Members wear interesting costumes performing this song on stage.

37. LPG - 바다의공주(The Princess Of Sea) - After 2 unsuccessful trot albums, LPG (Long Pretty Girls) is switching to more pop-oriented songs, and they started it with a remake of Park Myung Soo's hit. This dance song is tailor-made for summer. Original artiste Park Myung Soo also recorded the intro to introduce LPG to mainstream audiences.

Jung Dong Ha + Park Ki Young - 천년의 연인 (Thousand Year Lover - Love Theme from D-War) - From the OST of top box office sci-fi movie "D-War: The Legend of Dragon", this song is another good quality, lovely duet. The surprising popularity of this movie enables this song to move into our chart. It may not become a hit, but is a highly recommended song.

BIOGRAPHY:

Our featured artiste this week is R&B group Wanted. They had a highly acclaimed debut album in 2004 with the top 10 hit "Attack". Member Ha Dong Kyun also had a successful solo debut last year with the No. 1 song "Please Love Her". But this group has gone through a lot over the years. It hasn't been an easy road for Wanted, but they are finally making a comeback with their second album. After releasing their debut album Like the First in 2004, the group lost member Suh Jae Ho, who passed away in a tragic car accident. Quiet for the last three years, Wanted has regrouped in 2007 with new member and longtime friend Lee Jung. Like the late Suh Jae Ho and members Ha Dong Kyun and Jeon Sang Hwan, Lee Jung was originally a part of the group 7Dayz, which debuted in 2002 but disbanded shortly afterwards. Meanwhile, Wanted leader Kim Jae Suk also originally made his debut in 2002 with the group 4U. The four members of Wanted have gone through a lot together in the last five years, and this new album is a testament to both their passion for music and the strength of their friendship.

Wanted's new 15-track album is a great showcase of the group's strong, harmonic vocals. Written and composed by Choi Kab Won and Lee Hyung Jung, first plug "I Promise You" is a sad and touching ballad, while second plug "Wonderful Days" is a harmonic, mid-tempo number that highlights Lee Jung's voice. All four members contribute a solo track, with Baek Ji Young featuring in Kim Jae Suk's "Live With Tears". Epik High and Lee Bo Young also lend their vocals to the album.

-Coming back with an addicting second album

Last August, Girl Friends (Yuri from Cool and Chae Rina from Diva) released their first album [Another myself] and gained some popularity. Most of the songs are R&B, Hip Hop and Electronica genre. Each song in this album is considered to be very addicting and will have people fall in love with the songs. Unlike their first album, many of their friends and colleagues contributed to this album. Famous composers and lyricists from their first album have also contributed to their second album. We will be able to listen to Yuri and Rina's solo tracks as well. - credits to purpletiger86

Last year, MC The Max's vocalist Lee Soo had a song entitled "Run To The Sky" which was used in a 3D animation movie called "Iron Kid". This song was newly remixed for the summer and is a very catchy song. There are two versions of the song, which are the Cooler Remix version and Trance Remix version. New and established Korean stars share the screen in the refreshing new KBS drama I Am Sam. Acclaimed actor Yang Dong Geun (Ruler of Your Own World) plays against type as a timid, bumbling high school music teacher whose knees get even weaker when he realizes he has to teach a mob boss's daughter (newcomer Park Min Young, Unhindered Highkick). Other than Yang's starring presence, I Am Sam has gotten a lot of buzz because it marks the acting debut of Big Bang's T.O.P, who plays a troubled and trouble-making student. The cast also includes Son Tae Young (Freeze), Park Joon Gyu (Hot for Teacher), model-turned-actor Park Jae Jung, and Ryan of Paran, who impressed audiences earlier with his performance in Hello Baby.

Paran fans have plenty to look forward to with I Am Sam as Ryan not only appears in the drama, he contributes his vocals to the soundtrack as well. Paran sings the bright and catchy theme song "Just Me, Just Me" (Track 1), which fits in perfectly with the drama's young, light-hearted atmosphere.
