I've had a nasty habit of playing with my retainers ever since I got them and today I payed for it . A wire in my top retainer broke and I have to purchase a new one. I was wondering if anyone knew roughly how much it would cost to replace just one retainer. The top one.

call your orthodontist for a replacement. he/she should know your mouth the best.

I think you should make an appointmet with your orthodontist and get a replacement. At this point, I don't think it matters how much it costs because if you don't get a new one, your teeth have a chance of becoming crooked again without the retainer there to help maintain the alignment. Replacing a retainer, however, should cost far less than getting braces again.

like A LOT... i lost my bottom one at first had to pay $250.. but then my lil cousin found in a shoe but i had to $50 anyways cuz i had to mold again but since its top it would cost more.

i THINK that they range from $200-$350, but i'm not positively sure.

It depends on your insurance and how much your dentist charges. Different people have different prices.

Mine are clear >.> But if it's your first time losing it (within a year), can't you just get it replaced free? I heard its like $300 a pair afterwards.

i lost mine, and it was replaced for free, i dunno how your dental insurance works, but see if it will cover it.
