Okay I have been looking around on practically every single website created to find a really clear answer on how to get a Sky phone for Verizon. There are so many different answers that I'm really confused.

I know retailers in Ktown have Sky phones, but I live in San Jose, and I heard the people who work at those stores have terrible customer service. Plus, I can't speak Korean really well, since I'm only half. :[ But I've also read on other forums that I googled up that you can go to Korea, buy an SK phone there, and come back to the US and activate it at Verizon.

I have Verizon, and I'm going to Korea next month.
I just want to know the exact procedure on how to get the phone to work here with Verizon, and how much the retail price is for the phone I want, because my contract for Verizon doesn't end yet. I'm looking for the Sky IM-U160 Btw.

Oh & if I'm not supposed to be asking these kinda questions here, please direct me where. :[
I don't usually use forums, and I'm sooo anxious to get a new phone that I'm here, I'm not up to date on specific places to post sleep.gif, sorry!

No. Korea's network, and including Japan, have a strict network. Which means, you can only use their phones to use their network. The only other phone that's able to work in Korean, supposedly anyways, are Helio phones.

There are other parts of Asia that use GSM phones. You can find out which countries by clicking on the link in the first post.

Show phones have CDMA and GSM...so if it's unlocked....maybe you don't even need to unlock it...

I highly recommend CTI-NY or CTI-MIAMI

I bought two phones from www.ctinyc.com. Their costumer service was great. I called and emailed them before purchasing and they replied with no hesistation. Plus their prices are reasonable. I'd consider buying from them again!

has anyone else ordered from this site? I looked at it and the prices are cheaper than the other sites, phonesource usa and the one that were listed on the first page. I want to order a phone but so unsure of it. Is it really legit?

Hiii. I have a question
Okay, so my old phone died on my and my parents don't wanna get me an expensive phone so I talked them into getting me a GoPhone since the plan ends in over half a year...I went to the AT&T store and asked the sales people there and they said I could put my SIM card from my old phone into the gophone and it'll work. I also asked them about the $1.00 a day, $0.25 a minute... etc etc. and they said don't worry aobut it, but I'm a bit skeptical... & the guy didn't really answer; he just went back to chatting with his co workers dry.gif & I went home and I got the sony ericsson z310a for $30 biggrin.gif

So, my question is:
do they charge the $1.00/0.25 etc. only if you use the SIM card that comes with the gophone or if you use the phone in general?
& can i just throw away the sim card they give me, since I already have one...? hehe...

One more: is the sony ericsson K660 out for at&t? cause i saw my friend using it... & i really liked it.

This thread seems to be getting cluttered with non-faq related questions. I'm going to make a new one, so if you have a quick question, ask there.

From what I understand is that your phone broke and the At&t rep was stupid to not explain why you can just put your SIM card in that goPhone.

Your phone broke, but not your SIM card that was in it. Since it was an At&t SIM card, it'll work with any At&t and unlocked phones. So you could just go buy a goPhone and put your SIM card in it. You will still be using your plan like you were doing with your old phone. You will not be using the prepaid plan because it's the same SIM card that was from your old phone. To use the prepaid plan, you will have to get a new SIM card because it's different, but you don't need to do that since you're still using your postpaid plan.

As for the K660, I don't think that's out on At&t. Your friend probably got it unlocked.

Here's the new thread if you have a quick question not related to the FAQ.

I'm looking for some suggestions for a new phone. Right now I have an LG CU500 and the battery life SUCKS. I'll make one phone call and the battery will die, seriously. I charged it all night and unplugged it for 2 hours. Made 3 phone calls for about 2-3 min. each and it ran out of power.

Anyways, my plan is almost up and I'm in the market for a new phone. Heres the functions and stuff I would like:
1) Slider
2) No preference to brand (except probably not another LG)
3) Features most important to me are:
mp3 player
2.0 mp camera (at least)
4) Carrier: At&t
5) Unlocked phone preferably
6) Budget: $300 or less

i'm a little confused about metropcs phones.
since they don't use sim cards, an unlocked sim card phone wouldn't work with the network right?
would a verizon wireless or sprint phone work with metropcs?
is it possible to unlock a verizon wireless/sprint cell phone to work with metropcs?
i didn't think this was possible, but someone said it was? so now i'm confused..
if someone could help me, i'd really appreciate it.
thank you in advance! smile.gif

oh and if anyone has an old and functional metropcs phone they don't need, i'll be happy to take it sweatingbullets.gif

This isn't really part of the FAQ, but I'll answer it since it's a identity thing. Ask them questions like why they need your statements. I don't know why they would need it. You could also visit their ebay store and buy it through there if the phone is available.

All CDMA carriers say they can now "unlock" other carrier phones. They are only making it sound good. They have to first input their own software and then test it out to see if it'll work or not. At least that's what I read for MetroPCS. I believe they have a list of phones that can be used with them online. I never checked so not positive on this one. Go to howardforums.com and search/ask in the metropcs forum.

Your phone just turned into roaming so whatever service there is in that country that's what will show in your phone..

When going abroad (out of the U.S.), can I still use my T-mobile plan if I have a GSM phone? Or can I only use my phone with another plan within the country? I googled "T-Mobile international services", but they kept showing information about calling abroad, what about calling WHILE abroad?

Another question, I have an unlocked Rokr E6, when I received it it came along with all of these internet connections that I had no clue what it was for. On the motorola mod site, it showed a code that was compatable for the T-Mobile network and I used that (Now it doesn't work, because I just learned that TMO changed to 3g). I thought the other connections were useless and I deleted them, ALL. Now that I realize that the other stuff were 3G compatable, my other question is: Can I get them back somehow? I remember one of the name said 'EDGE'. That's why I asked.

^ it looks pretty good if you just look at it from your cellphone screen or if it's a small size
but once you enlarge it, it doesn't look all that great.. but it's only 2 MP, so what do you expect :/
and dont expect to focus on anything small with a cam phone
