what kind of band is your phone? if you have a quadband phone it should work pretty well but if you have a triband phone you might have bad reception.. I have an unlocked quadband phone and it has better reception than my old phones..

i saw that phonesource-usa was a legit site, but some reviews have been bad on it. I just wanted to make sure that it was a good site. the price is unbelievably low, so i can't trust it!

I have a question. I use a U700 atm and the GSM reception bar ranges from 2-3 instead of 4-5. Basically, one would assume my reception is below average.

However, whenever I call people my voice is fine and their voice is fine as well. I know for a fact my voice is in sync with time because I tested it with a friend using MSN at the same time.

Is there a problem to this?

edit: i'm on a fido plan and I have read that they use 1900 band. And that is what my phone is set to.

Unlocked Phones
Which carrier can I use with an unlocked phone?
- In America, T-Mobile and AT&T.
- In Canada, Rogers and Fido.
- In Europe, T-mobile and Vodafone, and O2. I actually think all carriers in Europe use GSM, but I'm not 100% sure.

Okay... so let me try to understand this... does this mean that you can't use an unlocked phone with VERIZON? I'm currently w/ Verizon and I need a new phone badly... but I'm not liking the options offered by Verizon.

nope.. verizon only uses CDMA and GSM phones are the one that's unlocked.. you can find small Verizon verified asian stores that might sell some imported phones but from what I heard that names don't come up when receiving text messages

You should email/call them about it.. that's what I did when my U600 didn't come when it was expected to be delivered... their customer services kinda sucks..

most likely asked before but I guess i'll go there sad.gif

i'm fairly interested in the SOFTBANK 920SH (on ebay) but the seller describes it as locked & something about the iNEX hypersim. currently i'm on t-mobile.. if i get the locked phone, how would i unlock it ? would i need to buy taht iNEX hypersim ? and also, with that will it definitely work or is it just a possibility ? the phone is GSM & WCDMA, and also.. would i need to switch carriers ?

i did some research on plemix.
apparently they are not as legit as we thought.

i called both of their numbers, the 800 number and the 425 (bellevue) number.

http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=466992

according to the people on this forum, some got scammed while others got their items. it seems very wishy washy.

also, plemix's address in bellevue is not real.
people are stating that it doesn't exist.

aigoo..

Wth.. I placed an order on Hi-Mobile like yesterday and today I got an update saying my order was voided sleep.gif
Will I still be charged? :\

Not that it matters, but apparently it's located in Bellevue, WA too o_o

Turns out they made an error.. and that was after I ordered from another site.
So now I have two phones coming my way. sleep.gif
I hope they'll let me return it.
