Some rather BIG news...

This is rather bizarre, but according to this article in Newsen, Inkigayo is changing formats beginning June 24. First of all, they are aiming for more than the usual teen audience to get the entire family watching. They are going to introduce an adult chart (for trot music). They are going to have top singers sing other folks songs or show a special talent that they don't usually share as well as sing their own songs and have them sing duets with older performers. They are also going to have a segment to introduce underground and Indie performers. They are also going to show more new artists to help them break into the charts. AND it's no longer going to be aired live. They are still keeping Take 7 and Mutizen Song.

BTW there will be no Inkigayo on June 10 because SBS is airing 2007 Dream Concert at 3pm that day.

Wow, all the music shows are changing a lot recently. =_= It's no longer going to be aired live? I suppose they didn't mention when they'll record the show did they? Man.. I like shows better when they're aired live. T__T Now there's only Music Core and MCountdown left.

Personally, I'm not so sure about that. I was watching Music Core last weekend with all the 'live' performances and I honestly wanted to stab a letter opener in my ear. After a while, I just put the show on mute to wait for those I wanted to watch perform. I'd rather hear them lipsynch than hear them squeak here and there, especially the women. It's one thing hearing a guy hit a bad note (at least it's low range), but hearing a woman's off key pitchy voice is enough to drive me insane. Unless they are good at live singing (which honestly, most of the folks I've heard on these Korean music programs aren't), I'd rather they lipsynch.

Music Bank & Music Core are all live music shows
Music Tank & Inkigayo are not
I dont know about YTN Tower Stage, [V] Alive & KMTV Show Rank ^^
and there are some other stages but they are not very popular

Youn Ha won the mutizen this week. I want Yang Pa to win, but she'll have to wait for another 2 weeks. sad.gif No Inky Gayo next week.

Even though Inky Gayo is not 100% live, most singers are singing live these days anyway, with the exception of SM singers. *cough* ph34r.gif

^ Not all SM singers. Super Junior T is 100% live.


M!Countdown, YTN Tower Stage, KM Show! Music Tank, and Channel V A-Live do not require a live performance. Only Music Core and Music Bank do.
