SATO SUSHI

Sunday: 11:30 am - 9:30 pm

Attire; Casual
Price; like any other sushi place

Comments: I love Sato Sushi <3 It is my favorite sushi place. It is served REALLY REALLY fresh (the main reason why I absolutely love this place ;D) , and the service isn't bad. They have a lot of things on the menu to choose from. The environment isn't bad, either. The price is VERY good for the food, too. When I went with about... five people, the bill came out to be $106. When it's three people.. it was about 80$. It's not too pricey, considering how wonderful and fresh their sushi is. biggrin.gif I love this place.

5/5 stars biggrin.gif

^^ wow ... either you guys had huuuuge apetites, ate a whole buncha sushi from little dish plates, or that place is overcharging you.

I went with my two sisters to Ariake Sushi near Oakridge and the bill came out to be 60~ I live near where you do I think if you eat at Sato Sushi so yeah, try Ariake Sushi ;]

[edit] There's this place I think it's Okawa Sushi .... on Snell and Blossom Hill biggrin.gif it's super cheap there too

Desert Jade Restaurant
3215 E Indian School Rd.
Phoenix, AZ 85018
(602) - 954 - 0048

Hours : Mon-Fri 11am-10pm
Sat 12pm-10pm
Closed Sundays
Attire : Casual
Price Range : Under $20
Specialties : Chicken Fruit Salad, Lettuce Wraps, Sizzling Rice Soup

History : This restaurant has been family owned for the past 20 years and is still up and running 'til this day. From what I've seen, it's won numerous awards both online and in magazines for Best Chinese Resataurant in Arizona. I've been dining there ever since I was a kid so it's very close to my heart. Inside, it doesn't seem like a chinese restaurant but more like an american steakhouse, but it's a very comfy atmosphere with it's velvet chairs and candle lighting. The staff is very friendly, the food is to die for, and for people who are always broke like me, this is the place to spend little yet get so much. Food is known to come out in 15 minutes or even less, so you're in and out. A lot of the customers are regulars who have been coming for over 10 years so it's pretty much gonna suck you back if you go there.

Comments : If you go there, be prepared. It's not uncommon to see celebrities eating in there. I've never seen them but my friends who go there have told me. There's Jimmy Eat World [supposedly they're regulars too], some players from the Phoenix Suns, Olympic swimmers, and more. I've only seen pictures which the restaurant has taken which are plastered on a wall in the entrance. Lol i guess celebrities don't always splurge. One day, I'll get their autographs >.<

Nordstrom Café Bistro San Francisco
(415)243-8500

Click here for their Yelp! page
4th Floor of Nordstrom in the Westfield Shopping Center
Casual
attire
$: $15-30

The day I went there, they had fresh swordfish. But since my friend's family was paying, I chose a less expensive dish and got a bistro club sandwich instead. [:

When we got there, they were very accomodating when we asked for a table closer to the window (where you can look over the skyscrapers of San Francisco) and pushed together three smaller tables for us where there was plenty of light. My only gripe is that they sat us underneath a vent, but then again, there were vents everywhere. I think we had a new waiter, since he seemed to be extremely nervous and his hands shook a bit more than usual. But he was very polite and helped us in any way possible!

Apparently right after we came in, there was a party of 40 people, and as a result, our food got delayed. Our waiter kept coming over and apologising, refilling our glasses of water and gave us bread to eat while we were waiting. Eventually, because the wait was so long, we also received crab bisque on the house!~ laugh.gif Personally, I didn't like it all too much (because I am much more of a chicken/vegetable broth person), but nevertheless, it was quite a kind gesture.

When our food arrived, I found myself wishing that I had ordered a salad instead. wacko.gif I thought that the cafe was going to be one of those stuffy, more expensive restaurants where they give you less food for more money. Instead, I received quite a large sandwich (Bistro Club) stuffed with slices of chicken, avocado, lettuce, tomato and bacon. Served on the side were shoestring pomme frites with a lavender coloured ranch/creme dipping sauce that was absolutely delectable!~ Needless to say, I was stuffed in the end. smile.gif Had I still room for more food, I would've also gotten the vanilla gelato stuffed puff pastries with chocolate sauce, but my stomach was near exploding out of my body.

Overall, an excellent restaurant with a very polite staff that will not ignore you. Kid-friendly, and great for casual or semi-formal dining. Plus, nothing can beat view of the San Francisco sky!~

sort of off topic but..

..this dude who used to sit right next to me in spanish 2 (actually he was my partner)... his family owns porto's bakery (glendale)... i have never been there but i've heard that bakery is amazing... everyone at school talks about his bakery...

he is my brother's age (now he's a freshman in hs) and he is fluent in spanish but he was in only level 2 because it was easy and all...

__

anyways. i want to try dolce & geisha house.... in hollywood.

There's a place in Bellevue, Wa right off the 520 East Bridge, it's called Dixie's BBQ. Now this resturaunt has some of the best bbq I've ever tasted.

I apologize if this was already reviewed. My internet is too slow to afford scrolling through 6 pages.

*Name of Restaurant: CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN
*website (if there is one): http://www.cpk.com/
*location: There are many, but I go to the one in Tustin, CA.
*appropriate attire that should be worn-Casual or Formal: Not a formal restaurant with gourmet dishes, but ... dress decently, I guess.
*Price range: Pretty reasonable ... in the $10s.
*what you ate:
I recommend the famous CPK pizza:
Original Barbeque Chicken Pizza -

The spicy Chipotle pizza:

Love the fettuccine:

Oohh, the appetizers are so good! Epecially the Avocado Club Egg Rolls:

& try the salads!:

+Dessert:

*the specialties the restaurant offers: Pizzas, Pastas, Soups, Hot or Cold Sandwiches, Appetizers, Salads, Desserts, Beverages.
*the business hours, the phone number: Check the web!
*state whether or not you would dine there again and any other information that you feel others should know: Definitely! I love the restaurant's atmosphere. The service is efficient, and every entree includes bread and butter. One pizza can be shared for 3 people. Overall, it's a nice, cozy spot for some good American food. Not like the lame excuses for burgers and fries... like at, I don't know, Mimi's Cafe.
I would rate this 4 Stars! **** Because it's not something TOTALLY exquisite, but this is definitely a quality restaurant worth dining at!

Turner New Zealand

All their food comes straight from New Zealand. It's a bit pricey, but if you like fine wines and high quality food, definitely give it a try. Steamed mussels in coconut lemongrass is by far the best appetizer I've had ANYWHERE. and try the Lamb or Filet Mignon when ordering turf. Lobster is great too, though much pricier... hehe

Really nice date spot if you want to impress your date. Service is friendly and people are really nice in general. After eating, I asked one of the waiters if there was a bar nearby. The cook overheard us and gave us some great suggestions on where to go next. Very friendly people smile.gif

price: 60~70/person (3 course meal w/ wine)

I'm not sure if someone already mentioned the Ninja restuarant in 25 Hudson Street, NY, NY 10013
But i'm planning to take my cousin there for her birthday. Does anyone know if it's worth it, I heard it's really expensive but if it's going to be fun n tasty then I don't mind. Also any recommended dish from there?

Hey, from what I heard from a friend.. the place is pretty overrated and you're paying mostly for the experience rather than the food -- but yeah, the decor is amazing i herad~ smile.gif

Sunday
11:30 AM-10:00 PM

Types Of Cuisine:
Chinese, Japanese,
and Sushi.
Large Buffet including
Seafood, sushi, and all
your Chinese Favorites.

* It's more of a "high-end" buffet restaurant. My b/f and I went there, dressed a little nice, but can be casual. Food was typical of what you would see in a chinese restaurant but had more choices. A few ehre and there American & some others. Sushi is available along with hibachi. Nice, but not what I had hoped for.

* Price for one adult dinner was like, $18.00 My b/f and I went there and both got just water. Bill ended up being over $40.00. In my opinion, the decor is nice, but I would've rather went to McD's or some other chinese restaurant and spend less than $10-$15.00. Don't waste your money.

i'll do some BRIEF reviews...i'm too lazy to write up extensive ones

*Name of Restaurant
DOUZO
*location
Boston, MA...it's in back bay, right behind Copley's Neiman Marcus on Dartmouth Street
*Pricing
$$$$ out of 5...(compared to the average japanese restaurant)
*food
pretty straight forward..it's japanese food...mainly specializing in sushi (imo)
the fish is the FRESHEST i've ever tasted at any japanese restaurant, and their tempura is to die for. they have rolls with "twists"...a lot of them aren't everyday run-of-the-mill types of rolls and are exceptional! i can't stress how fresh the fish is though!!
*return?
it's my favorite sushi spot. [:

*Name of Restaurant
Legal Seafood
*location
there are several locations, but imo, the one in Prudential Center in Boston is the best one
*Pricing
appetizers range from $6-$15, entrees start at $18
*food
it's a seafood restaurant, and imo, the best chain seafood restaurant in new england. they have the BEST clam chowder, and they make note of that..."served in the past 7 presidential inaugurations." their seafood is super fresh, and if you like raw oysters, cherrystones (my fav), or some steamers, it'll definitely please your palette! everything i've ever ordered has never fallen short of awesome.
*return?
another favorite of mine.

*Name of Restaurant
texas de brazil
*location
several locations, but the one i've been to is at Woodfield Mall in woodfield? haha i'm not sure...somewhere in IL
*Pricing
$45 (?) a person
*food
it's an all you can eat steak buffet, Brazilian steakhouse style...all you teak lovers/big eaters will love it! they come around with skewers of freshly cooked medium-rare steak that can be prepared to your liking upon request. they have everything from flank steak to a filet. they also offer different preparations of chicken, lamb, sausage, etc., and offer a good sized salad bar. P.S. save room for dessert!
*return?
i go there every time i'm in chicago!

*Name of Restaurant
Koreana
*location
cambridge, ma
*Pricing
$$ to $$$ (out of 5...idk i guess lol)
*food
i don't know what to say about this one. it's the only good korean restaurant, or the only one i know of for that matter, around the boston area. BUT IT IS GOOD!! haha ..um yep. korean food. yum. lol
*return?
the only one i go to around here...

maybe i'll add more later..

korean food in boston is horrible IMO
i think it's worth a trip to flushing if you really crave korean food.
but outside of Seoul, can't beat LA. yum!!!

anyways... im glad i'm not the only one that's willing to spend a little on food!!
i'm going to a nice little place in bel air tonight... hopefully will get out a review tomorrow or the day after.

VIBRATO jazz grill

Steaks are great, and the wine selection is pretty large. Mostly local wines, but still a great selection. If you don't have the money for the fine dining, just come for some coffee and dessert. the truffle cake is to die for! aside from that, there's always a live jazz band playing, and best of all, music is free! no cover charge required (except on certain days, which are few).

dinner: $60/person (3 course meal w/ glass of wine)
desserts only: 10~15/person (dessert + coffee/expresso)

dress up nicely, as most of the crowd are older white folks who live locally in the bel air area.
