Name: Sake Japanese Snack Bar
Address: 4300 Steeles Ave. E. Unit P88, Markham, ON L3R 0Y5 (right outside of pmall)
Rating: ***
Price: after tips and tax, 19$ a person (all you can eat)
Feview: the place is cramped (but homey!) and also very very busy, we had to wait 30 minutes even when we had reservation! T_T there was lots of choices on the menu (which is always good!) i especially enjoy the grilled salmon belly (don't remember the name) and the mango maki! we ordered sushi pizza, but it never came -___-" (everyone was soo disappointed!). we got to choose between different flavours of ice cream as desserts (matcha, mango, red bean...etc).

overall, i think my 19$ was okay spent (not well spent, but okay spent!), i ate all you can eat hot-pot for 21$ a person, and all i ate was beef and vegs -___-. i thought the service was also only so-so (they never bought us our sushi pizzas! T^T <--- bitter!!!)

--

Name: Taste of Korea & Tokyo Noodle & Grill
Address: Pacific Mall unit F27/F29 (your food is being served by servers, so i consider that a 'restaurant' haha)
Rating: *
Price: pretty cheap, bento box ranges from 7-10$
Review: oh god! i hate this place. the food is awful! sad.gif i got dragged in by my friend cause of this cute waiter who works there! i would have never walked in if i was to choose. the bento box i got was very plain, the meat wasn't cut into small pieces, and did i mention the box was very plain and empty? T_T (presentation is everything!) i could have gotten the same box from the food court for cheaper and you get more food!

i went there a second time with another friend to try their korean food, and it was just as bad as the japanese food (maybe even a bit worse!)...their kimchi soup insulted my beloved kimchi! >=(

the only good thing is the food isn't really expensive, so i wouldn't wanna kill myself or anything after eating here.

--

Name: Sushi Time
Address: 339 Queen West, Toronto
Rating: *****
Price: sushi combos are under 14$
Review: i used to come here at least once a week with my older sister, and i would always get the football sushi! the food is good, and the sushi pizza IS TO DIE FOR!!! their matcha cheesecake is also a must try!

--

Name: Korean Grill House
Address: 214 Queen St. W.
Rating: *****
Price: around 12.95$ - 16.95$ (?) per person (all you can eat, prices depend on day/time/location)
Review: i love this place! it's cheap, and you get plenty of food! you get beef, squid, salmon, chicken, ribs and more! with the price you also get all you can eat kimchi (<333), rice, soup, tofu, bean sprouts! and for 1$ you can get a pitcher of ice tea! this place is heaven LOL.

there's also two more locations, one in scarborough (don't remember the address) and another one in times square. i've been to all three and my most favorite one has to be the one located in times square (it's also a bit more expensive if i remembered correctly) but overall, i give all three restaurant five stars biggrin.gif

--

Name: Thai Basil
Address: 467 Bloor Street West, Toronto
Review: *****
Price: 3 people plus tax and tip around 100$. daily lunche special starts from 5.95$
Review: my first time eating thai food and i loved it! my favorite dish has got to be the Thai BBQ Pork (appetizer)! the sauce is amazing, i can still taste it in my mouth till this day! LOL their pad thai are also good...i really don't know what else to say about this place aside from the restaurant looks beautiful and the food was good! give it a go. i would recommend going at lunch time, since the specials are cheap as heck!

other great dishes: Fried Japanese Udon in House Sauce & Hot Pot Eggplant with Ground Pork

Wow, a lot of suggestions for LA and Glendale.

I agree with suggestions for Raffi's and Porto's (get there early because of the line).

Here are some of my suggestions:

Moonshadows in Malibu on PCH. Nice setting where it looks like you're hanging over the water.

Gina's Tacos on Colorado and Pacific in Glendale. Tastes so much better than Tito's. It's a hole in the wall taco stand.

Hodori on Olympic and Vermont. It's THE place to go after clubbing.

Roy's - I don't know what the whole name is but it's hawaiian fusion. The one in Downtown LA has great food and service. Definitely one of my best recent dining experiences.

I agree! I love going to Buca's for big birthday dinners. I feel that's the only time when it's really worth it to go though. The last time I went we had one of their newer fettucini dishes.. I think it's called Fettucini Gamberi? Basically fettucini noodles with sun dried tomatoes, shrimp, and bay spinach in a thick alfredo sauce. I loved it so much. Some other good dishes are the Spaghetti with Meatballs. The meatballs are literally the size of a softball. We also had Linguine Fruitti di Mare, which is linguine with clams and other seafood in alfredo sauce. My absolute favorite is the fresh salmon with pesto sauce. Soo Good smile.gif I'm so hungry now! cool.gif

The Oceanaire in Atlanta, GA
1100 Peachtree St

Cost: approx. $30 an entree

Atmostphere: seems like an old supper club with a modern feel

Cuisine: Seafood

General: This place was great. I got the scallops and they were huge and delicious. The crab cakes were also good with big lumps of crab and very little filler.

For dessert we had the Baked Alaska that they fire up right at the table.

Service was great and attentive.

If you've got the cash check it out!

Asian Legend
http://www.asianlegend.ca/index.htm
Location: They have 5 locations, one on Yonge St in North York near McDonald's, one at Metro Square, another downtown, one near Hwy 7 near Commerce Gate and the newest is at Finch and Leslie.
The type of food here is Shanghai cuisine.
I think I've eaten at almost every single one except the one downtown.
The decor is GORGEOUS. The food is usually pretty tasty. I usually order chi fan (sticky rice with meat floss filling..delicious) and a small hot n sour soup.
If you apply for their VIP card, you get 10% off for a year.
The newest one is probably the biggest and most beautiful one. However, their service still needs a bit of working on..
I went there like a day or two after it opened and they didn't know which tables had which food and after awhile, the line up was really really long even though people had reservations.
It doesn't help that the stylish entrance is a narrow glassed in hallway.
All in all, I love this restaurant anyways. I'd give it 4/5 stars.

GO FOR TEA.
This is a pretty new restaurant. It's at 30 Commerce Valley Drive East, behind the Hilton Courtyard hotel and I believe Sheridan.
It's hidden at the back where all those steakhouses are.
The decor is even more gorgeous than Asian Legend's, I kid you not.
It's way bigger as well and they have VIP rooms. The atmosphere is not as loud and it's filled with Asian teenagers and people in their young 20s, although you see a few families around.
This is a Taiwanese restaurant and they serve BUBBLE TEA as well. It's around the same price range as Tea Shop 168.
I ordered grilled salmon with rice. It was yummyy.
The people I went with ordered the uh..3 cups of chicken..haha I don't know how else to translate it. (Taiwan is famous for it apparently) and conch with basil and peppers which I suprisingly liked cause I hate basil.
I also drank a strawberry green tea w/ tapioca and it was pretty good. Normal.
I went with 2 other people and we ordered 3 entrees, 1 appetizer and 1 bubble tea which came out to be just under 30.
I say it's pretty affordable and good. I didn't really like the music they played though. It was annoying and I thought they'd be playing like..Jay Chou.
It was exactly like a bubble tea place (they even had the magazines out) except more elegant I guess you could say and they had more food on the menu.
You could also tell they were picky about their waitresses. They didn't just hire anyone. The waiters, especially female ones were pretty.
5/5 stars!

let me serenade your soul.

Ada (Indian cuisine) in NYC
http://adanyc.com/media/websiteada.html

IPB Image

208 E. 58th Street. NYC

This restaurant is sort of pricey, but the food is really great! I went during Restaurant Week in NYC because this restaurant was on the list of special discounted lunch prices.
Regular entree prices start at $30+.
Really clean and comfortable atmosphere with a modern feel.
The food isn't 100% authentic Indian but authentic Indian food is hard to find in the US.
Very friendly and prompt service.

I highly recommend this restaurant!

Red Charcoal
1701 Lundy Avenue
San Jose, CA 95131

I tried different Korean styled places with my friend, but I have to say that this one has become my favorite one. The service is really really fast, I didn't have to wait long for the food to come in.
The food is really well prepared. Sure, it isn't *purely* Korean as some people noticed, but I can see how it landed in the newspaper.

The sauces that they put in the food are really really good.
I also like the appetizer, I usually don't like to eat appetizers, but this one was good.
The frozen cream puff with strawberry sauce that they give at the end is also a nice touch which is different from the mints I'm accustomed to.

Go wild and try any of the dishes. All the ones that I've tried so far on a whim have turned out delicious! The cook graduated from the CIA, and instead of staying at some high end place in the city, he decided to open up this restaurant instead. (and is it just me or does the chef remind you of MC Yoo? hahaha)

I also like how the people will recognize you if you come back. The people are really nice and welcoming. ^^

Name: Asakusa
Location: 265 Eversholt Street, Camden (take the tube to Mornington Crescent and it's right behind the station)
Review: It's hard to find quality authentic Japanese food in central London at a reasonable price, but here's one 20 minutes away from west end. The decor is a bit retro and the interior looks rundown, not to mention smoky as most patrons are Japanese men in for a drink and dinner and chatting into the wee-hours. Kinda reminds me of Tokyo yakitori houses. The food is excellent and the menu has something for everyone. Reservation recommended for Fri and Sat nights.

Dinner for 2 comes to 40, which includes 3 starters (yakitori, fried tofu, grilled aubergine with prawn) 4 main courses (assorted sashimi, assorted sushi, wafu steak, shrimp and veg tempura) drinks and tip. Yes big eaters biggrin.gif.

who: alexander's steakhouse
where: corner of wolfe in san jose

super pricy for okay-ish food. nearly spent 400 dollars on 3 ppl - 2 kobe steaks and one sample platter + other misc. dishes. service was cruddy..i'm assuming it's b/c we didnt get any wine w/ our food and they thought we were cheap? dunno.

complementary cotton candy for dessert at such a supposedly "upscale" restaurant is kinda weird.

I don't know if this is the best place to mention this, but if you want to see reviews of a lot of NYC places (along with their menus and locations), a really helpful site is
