My eyelids are like really dry for some reason and when I wash my face, put on my moisturizer, etc.. my eyelids sting. You can sort of see the redness too. I've been putting some petroleum jelly on them but was wondering if any of u could tell me an even more effective solution.

there are a lot of drug store brand eye cream that you can use, before you apply your make-up, and at night when you sleep.
i use to have the same problem before, and i never figured out why, but my doctor said it was the weather, and my skin type so he gave me some medicated cream to apply. it didn't help much. but i changed different eyeshadows/ foundations... and never had the problem again.
Edit: i forgot to mention, my eyeliner was the major problem, i use to use the cheap covergirl eyeliner that really doesn't glide on and i have to tug and pull at it constantly for the color to show, then i switched to urban decay, which glides on and is a lot less sensitive for my eyelids as well.

OMG i had this before
it SUCKED soooo bad
basically i know this sounds crazy... but..
my shampoo was totally doing it to me.. just try to avoid getting shampoo in ur eyes ( like face your face away from the water when u shampoo ur hair )
it's kinda awkward.. but after a while ur skin will get better
it's prolly because it's so dry out ( Cause of winter / less humidity/coldness )
creams wun help until u stop drying it out in the firstplace
so basically avoid all soaps or shampoos to that area
even face cleanser =/
good luck!

I have this too... and the dryness always comes back. I just learned to deal with it.
Vaseline works really well, but it makes my face too shiny for day wear, so... I use Burt's Bees Radiance Eye Creme.
It's $15 and I get it at QFC. It is pricey though. I think any eye moisturizer will do.. but I find that creams keep the area moisturized all day whereas regular lotion dries out. Once you find the cream that you like, make sure to use it everyday, under your makeup and use it at night too! I do this even if it seems like it's okay, because I have learned that it always comes back. (At least, for me)
Try to use moisturizing face/eye wash and if you have acne-prone skin like I do, you may have to invest in two different face washes.
Causes of your dry skin can be your make up, rubbing or touching your eyes frequently or vitamin deficiency. Also, if it's something that you recently got, maybe it's just because it's winter. Of course, there can be many other reasons but there are ways to deal with it.
I hope you find this at least a little bit helpful. Good luck. ^^

I thought i was the only one with this problem...I've never had this before, and my eyelids is really red, dry and sometimes itchy...even if i put on aquaphor [similar to petroleum], it takes away the dryness, but the redness is still there! the doctor told me it was due to weather and my allerigies...but i don't think so, because it's been there for a while! GRRRR
=/ i jsut wanna get this fixed..anybody got a prescription from their derms, please help

OMG. I totally had this before. O_O;
So I went to the dermatologist and he gave me this cream.
And it seriously works.
The redness above my eye went away like in a day or 2.
It's all Hydrocortisone Valerate Cream.
I don't know if you can get it at drugstore, but it seriously works.
Good luck!

you need eye cream. you can go to sephora or mac stores and they have a special cream to put on your eye area. It's cuz it's winter and it's usually dry. Your eyelids are very thin that's why it stings and vice versa.
