i'm definitely not the most savy person when it comes to cars. i currently drive an 04 honda accord lx and i love it. i was thinking about getting a new 07 civic, but i just can't seem to like it as much as an accord. i recently saw a mazda 3 and it looks like the style that i want.

now, this might be a dumb question, but which car is better in terms of:

- value; i know the new 08 accords are coming within this month, some dealers have already said that they're bringin them in today so i know i can get a little bit of a better deal on an 07 since they're trying to get rid of them

- safety; which one has the most standard safety features

- performance; acceleration, braking, turning, steering

- gas mileage; i go to school full time and i work full time so i'm always driving back and forth i would proabably say i drive at least 40 miles a day, minimum.

- maintanence and warranty

- audio; do the cars have an aux jack that i can use to plug in my ipod or a good sound system

if there are any other things that should be taken into consideration when comparing these 2 cars, please feel free to add

thanks smile.gif

"- safety; which one has the most standard safety features"

on the mazda 3, i know its an option to get side-curtain airbags and such and its only available as an option on higher level trims;
but on the honda accord, im pretty sure it comes standard.
and you know most honda's have great resale values.

i would wait and get the 08 accord, it looks like a beast!

when it comes to gas milage, isnt civics one of the best? it burns really little gas.

as for the audio, even if it doesn't, they have all sorta stuff to help hookup your ipod to a car. they even have cassettes that plugs ipods O_O

This thread's going to be closed pretty soon... Anyway I vote for the Honda Civic. My brother has the '06 Civic Coupe and it's awesome... It uses a lot less gas than my Acura TSX.

Civics r definitely out of the question as I've already mentioned in the first post I just don't like the style and it's missing a few features that I love in the accord and couldn't bear to settle for and I can't drive coupes cuz my grandma doesn't feel comfortable in them. I could also probably get an accord for a little more than a civic so it would be a better deal.

I really love the design of the mazda 3 but it is as reliable as the accord?

I wouldnt get the 08 accord just yet because there will be kinks that would be needed to be dealt with and flaws to the design. If you have your heart set on an accord, get the 2007.
