Well I'm going to be a freshman in university this coming September and I'm planning to work while I school. The problem is that I'm debating whether I'm going to be able to work two jobs while schooling at the same time. I've thought about dropping one but I haven't came to any conclusions, because one job is useful for experience and the other is fun and really damn enjoyable. And each job requires a minimum of 10 and 20 hours per week respectively; so I'm looking at working 30 hours a week.

I'm planning to take 3 courses for first semester (9 credit hours) because I don't want to burn myself out by taking more. Despite that, I still feel uneasy about whether I'll be able to handle the course load. I haven't really experienced the homework/study load of university so I don't really know how much time I'll need to put aside for studying and doing homework. How would you guys compare the workload of highschool to university? I know it's more demanding in university but specifics would be nice. I'm taking macroeconomics, precalculus and introduction to literature & fiction (english course) if it helps.

.. any advice would be greatly appreciated smile.gif

hmm..well, ill have 2 jobs while going to school full time. One is to pay the bills and the other is work study. I'll prolly be working 30+ hrs per week, but i try not to think about it. I went to community college for my first 2 years and tried to do the whole 2 jobs (different) and go to school full time. I found it to be very hard to juggle, but if ur focused and are good at managing ur time, then u should be okay--i would say unless its completely necessary to have both jobs, it may be better to drop one. ur paying for school and need for that to be ur main focus, ya know? both my jobs are necessary, so im just gonna have to suck it up and deal with it...lolz~ if i were u, id keep the one u enjoy, that way u dun dread going to work everyday like me. i rambled alot, but hopefully u get my drift? good luck with school smile.gif

Thanks for the advice. I've thought about dropping one, but I'm finding it really difficult to decide. One of the jobs is really rewarding, enjoyable and it took a lot of time to get hired and I don't really want to leave so soon. I mean, I literally have fun working there so I definitely don't want to leave. The other job is less enjoyable, but it has a lot of potential such as being promoted to a supervisor/managerial type of position, so I'm really keen on keeping it since I'm performing well there and the future there looks quite bright. In addition, this 2nd job is also career-related so I'm getting some really good exposure and experience to the working environment and everything. Bahhh decisions decisions.
