Look at the FAQ, it answers your second question.
As for the comparisons and etc. For the comparison between the U700/U600, look here for yourself: http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPho...p;idPhone1=1852. The main difference is the U600 is quad band while the U700 is Tri band. The U700 has 3G and videocall camera which the U600 doesn't have. Those are basically the main differences between those two.
Now comparing the Samsungs to the LG. The KE970 is tri band, doesn't have 3G(only EDGE), and lower MP on the camera. Those are the main differences I found with a quick look at the specs at GSM Arena.
As for basic internet hook up, are you talking about tethering or internet on the phone? You could tether on mostly any phone that has access to the internet, that's if you have the plan.

Then any phone can do that, just as long as you have a plan, that's all.

You had to add/change a/the WAP/MMS settings in order for it to work.. I had to add one on my old D900 and my U600 to work with Cingular.

Yea, you have to configure it. I know T-mobile has a section where can configure it and Sony Ericsson has a section where they text you which contains the configuration process.
Anyways, if you don't know how to do it or what to input, just visit Howardforums.com.
