i'm not sure about this so i'm asking here. i'm going to mexico and my mom wants me to call like everyday to L.A. she thinks it doesn't cost anything but since it's a diff country and long distance i know it will. i have verizon so does anyone know just how much it'll cost to dial to LA from Mexico? thanks..

uh, I would imagine it'd cost A LOT! I checked out VZW's site and they listed calling from Mexico in international roaming at $0.99 per minute and $0.50 per text mssg sent and $0.05 per text received. They mentioned soemthing about "I-DIAL" and I read about it but still dont know what it is, you might want to call a VZW rep. Does she want you to call just for check-ups or does she want 15+ minute conversations?

I say just buy a calling card over there and use it....the US Dollar is much more powerful than the Mexican Peso so a calling card shouldn't cost that much. Watch out for some fees in small print on the back tho, like connection fee, maintenance fee, % fee per call made. Of course, most calling cards give you the most minutes when you only use the entire card during one call, and not hanging up and calling someone else.

Have fun over there....and never buy full asking price. If you wear something like a baseball jersey over there....people will always try to buy it from you.

Check Verizon or call them, but good thing someone was willing to search through there site.

I recommend that you keep your phone for emergency and use a card when calling your mom.
