Here are some stories I found. They did not happen to me, but to someone else.
Story #1
"What I hate is when you're just sittin' there watching TV and stuff-when all the sudden u hear a strange noise. Then you get all squirmy and uncomfortable. Also phone calls. I'll admit that once at one of my first home alone sessions a person called and asked for my parents. I said that they were not available and then the person said-"Oh! They're not home! Ok! Bye!" So what would you do? Well, I immediately called my mom freaked out and crying. Being home alone can be a pretty scary thing-just make sure you're prepared for anything-and I mean anything!!!!!!!!!!"
Story #2
"When you're home alone you can do anything you want, right? Well, once when I was home by myself, someone came to my house (that I didn't know) and asked if he could come in and use the phone. I said hold on. I immediately ran to the phone and called my neighbor. The man saw her coming over and he started walking away. My neighbor had her husband with her and he asked him what he was doing at my house in a very angry tone. He said, "Oh I was asking if I could use the phone." Well, we called the cops and it turned up that he was a kidnapper and knew I was home alone. My parents never left me home alone again."

TIPS WHEN STAYING HOME ALONE :
Tip #1 // Don't let anyone know you're home alone. If a stranger knocks at your door,
don't answer it. If someone calls and asks for your mom, say "She can't come to the phone right now"
and ask to take a message. Remember not to brag about staying home alone - you don't want other
kids to try to take advantage of your empty house.
Tip #2 // Lock it up. Learn how to lock and unlock all doors and windows. That way no one can
get in, but you can get out if you need to. Know your numbers. Learn your phone number
(and your area code), address (even your zip code), your mom or dad's work and cell phone numbers,
and the phone number of an adult who lives nearby and can help you quickly in an emergency.
Tip #3 // Check in with your parents. Ask your parents for permission before you go anywhere,
and call to tell them when you get home. If your parents know where you are all the time, they'll know
where to look for you if they need to.
Tip #4 // Practice what to do in emergencies. Practice deciding whether to
call 911 or "0," a neighbor, or your parents.
Tip #5 // Choose a safe house. With your parents, ask a neighbor if you
can go to his or her house if you need help fast.
Tip #6 // Be alert. If something doesn't look right when you arrive home,
like a broken window or open door, don't go inside your house. Go to your safe house and ask for help.
tips from here.
Anything can happen. But will you be ready for it?

actually, i don't open the door at all when someone rings o_O
the scariest thing that's ever happened to me is...
errm.
my computer room is right across my living room, and when i'm home alone, i like to keep my door open. well one day, i sit here clacking on the computer for hours at a time. obviously it gets really dark, and the whole house is dark except my computer room. i don't mind though, because i still have light. but then ALL OF A FREAKING SUDDEN....
the fan light from the living room turns on.
OMG im getting chills just writing about it.
OMG it was soooooooooo freaky...
i got like this horrible feeling for the whole night until my parents came home. >__<

my door does that when theres 2 windows open and the wind is pulling on the door since my door is kinda loose? thats why it doesnt lock.
but.... the windows were all closed.
so yes, freaky.
i've had lots of occassions of men coming to my door
banging on the door, ringing the doorbell impatiently.
saying things like "here to repair your A/C" (that i didnt call for) and saying "can i borrow your phone" (what sort of person doesnt have a cell phone? that person wasn't alone either.. im doubtful BOTH ppl didnt have cell phones or their battery died)
i always ignore em and never open the door

so I open some of the lights and turn on the music (not too loud though)... I don't like silence when I'm alone...
the second story there is creepy...
if someone rings when I'm alone... I'll ignore it or something...

That being said, if you're always scared being home alone, my advice is: get a dog. Not one of those small tiny things, but huge mastiff/saint bernard/great pyrenees sized dogs. That'll just literally wipe away all your fears.

I make up stuff like that in my head if I'm bored enough.
But generally I enjoy being home alone, not for a long time though.

just not at night T^T
well, once i was home alone, and the doorbell rung
( i live in an apartment building with like tons of asians people ) lol
i look through the peekhole
and it was my friend.
so i opened the door and she asked if i wanted to come over, her mom was making sushi. ^^
of course i couldnt turn down food XD so i said, "sure^^ ill ask my mom first though. ill call you back"
so shes like okay^^ and then she walks back upstairs.
i close the door and run to get my phone. i call my mom and tell her that im going to my friends house to eat sushi XD
she says yes
so then we hung up and i started to get ready.
right when i was about to get my keys, i heard someone knock.
i look through the peekhole and it was this middle aged man standing there with a business suit on.
i was confused why he was there, so ran quietly to my room and called my friend.
"hey, i think ill be sorta late. theres this weird man in front of our door."
her: "omg! hey be quiet. dont answer the door. my moms going to go down right now."
me: 0_0;;;;;
1 minute later, i hear yelling outside my door
i look through the peekhole and i see my friends mom yelling at the business looking man
he says, "srry, then slowly walks off"
0_0
then my friends mom invited me over because she was afraid he might come again 0_0;
T^T im still freaked by it T^T
but im so glad her mom was brave

i never open the door even if i know who it is, but it really sucks because my front door is half glass so you can easily see through it and see if anyone is home. that really freaks me out. my neighborhood is pretty safe though.
am i the only one or have you guys even planned like safety routes through you mind in case someone comes and tries to kill you. lmao. when i'm bored i just daydream and find myself thinking, hmmm.. if a killer comes into my house .. i'd run to get my doggy and the blah blah blah to try and escape. lol.
ok i'm weird.
