so i was talking to my friend shanshan aka sammy and she was talking baout how her pearls always come out extra soggy or hard and powderey in the inside still. u can usually find a bag of the pearls in super 88 market if your looking for them. fist u have to soak the pearls u want to cook in hot water to take some of that icky powder on the outside off for about 2 minutes. let your water boil on the stove , covered until it steams drop the pearls in a put the lid back on. check on it occasionaly . u see that the pearls are all floating on top of the water take it of the stove and let it sit with the lid on for another 2 minutes and it should come out fine.

oh and ps. i think the black orginal boba's are the best does anyone like the rainbow green tea or anyother ttypes? if u do share plz so far the rainbow and green tea ones taste pretty icky to me biggrin.gif

how long does it take for them to float?

Mine still turn out with hard centers O_O

The package says "starch balls"...are those the same as boba pearls/tapioca?

^ If I remember correctly, when I was working at Lollicup, we let them cook for about 30 min - 1 hr.

But scrubbing the pot afterwards is a pain. I had to scurb it since I'm the new guy and the people there didnt tell me they have the stainless steel sponge until after I finished washing it with the regular sponge. Bunch of a**es.

I went to a Japanese restaurant and I got boba w/ my sushi and they had the boba stuck to the inside of the cup all the way around and about halfway to the top. Is there a way to do that at home? It was cool because I could drink the tea without killing myself and pick the bubble off when I felt like it.

omg thats cool hmm im not sure i think u can get the bobas to stick to the cup if u take it out of the water for a little bit cuse it gets sticky and put it around the cup but i think the water would make it all come off mellow.gif sorry im no help whats the restaurant called though haha i wanna try that toos

Thanks for the tip! I often find myself cooking these things for a long time because the center is still white, but once i let it cool, it becomes clear -__- tricky tricky.
